Eunoia Junior College
Eunoia Junior College (EJC) is a junior college in Singapore which offers Integrated Programme (IP) with Catholic High School, Singapore Chinese Girls' School and CHIJ Saint Nicholas Girls' School. It is located in Bishan, close to Bright Hill MRT station and Bishan MRT station. History Plans for Eunoia Junior College were first announced on 1 September 2010 as part of an expansion of the Integrated Programme (IP) to seven more schools. The new Junior College was targeted to be set up by 2017, serving IP students from three schools as there was no model for such a Junior College at that time. Bishan (), also known as either Bishan New Town or Bishan Town, is a planning area and matured residential town located at the northernmost portion of the Central Region of Singapore. Statistically, the area is ranked the 38th biggest in terms of geographical size and the 22nd most populated planning area in the country. Integrated Programme
The Integrated Programme (IP) is a scheme that allows high-performing students in secondary schools in Singapore to skip the GCE Ordinary Level (O-Level) examination (typically taken by students at the end of their fourth or fifth year in secondary school) and proceed to sit for the GCE Advanced Level (A-Level) examination, International Baccalaureate (IB), or an equivalent examination, after six years of secondary education. The A-level examination is typically taken by students at the end of their second or third year in junior college. Overview The programme allows for more time allocated to enrichment activities. Bright Hill MRT Station
Bright Hill MRT station is an underground Mass Rapid Transit station on the Thomson–East Coast line (TEL). Situated along Sin Ming Avenue in western Bishan, Singapore, it serves various residential estates around the station. It also serves landmarks such as Peirce Secondary School, Ai Tong School, Bishan-Ang Mo Kio Park and the Kong Meng San Phor Kark See Monastery. First announced as Sin Ming MRT station in August 2012, the station was constructed as part of TEL Phase 2 (TEL 2). Since the station was built in a heavily developed area, the bored piles were installed using specialised machinery due to hard granite at the site. In January 2019, it was announced that the station will become an interchange with the future Cross Island line (CRL). Bishan MRT Station
Bishan MRT station is a Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) interchange station on the North South (NSL) and Circle (CCL) lines in Bishan, Singapore. Located along Bishan Road within the town centre area, it is integrated with the Junction 8 shopping centre and close to the Bishan Bus Interchange. Nearby schools include Raffles Institution, Catholic High School and the Kuo Chuan Presbyterian Primary and Secondary Schools. Initially announced as Kampung San Teng, it was renamed San Teng and subsequently Bishan. Opened on 7 November 1987, Bishan NSL station was one of the first five stations on the MRT network. During the construction of the CCL station, the original island platform of the NSL was split into two separate side platforms and the station was upgraded to cope with increased passenger traffic from the CCL, which opened on 28 May 2009. The Singapore-Cambridge General Certificate of Education Ordinary Level (or Singapore-Cambridge GCE O-Level) is a GCE Ordinary Level examination held annually in Singapore and is jointly conducted by the Ministry of Education (MOE), Singapore Examinations and Assessment Board (SEAB) and the University of Cambridge Local Examinations Syndicate (UCLES).
