Eumundi Railway Station
Eumundi railway station is located on the North Coast line in Queensland, Australia. It serves the town of Eumundi in the Sunshine Coast Region. History The original Eumundi railway station opened in 1891 on Gympie Road (now Memorial Drive) opposite Gridley Street () as part of the opening of the North Coast line; it is now the site of the Eumundi Markets. The current railway station opened in 1988 when a deviation was built as part of the electrification of the North Coast line. The station today consists of one platform with a steel shelter. In 2009, the platform was extended with scaffolding and plywood materials. Initially intended as an interim arrangement until a permanent extension was built, the temporary platform remained until December 2019. A permanent reconstruction of the platform commenced in May 2019 and was completed by December 2019. Eumundi is a rural town and locality in the Sunshine Coast Region, Queensland, Australia. In the , the locality of Eumundi had a population of 2,221 people. Eumundi is very popular on the coast for its bi-weekly farmers' markets. The marketplace is full of locally-made produce, which has made Eumundi and the surrounding area a haven for small businesses. Geography Eumundi is 21 km south-west of Noosa Heads and 118 km north of the state capital, Brisbane. It is located just off the Bruce Highway. Nearby towns are Yandina and Cooroy. History Town blocks were surveyed and divided in 1890. The town's name is believed to come from the Kabi name Ngumundi, the name of a local Indigenous clan leader, who was said to have adopted escaped convict Bracefield as his adopted son. The Sunshine Coast Daily is an online newspaper specifically serving the Sunshine Coast region of Queensland, Australia. It is owned by News Corp Australia. It was originally founded as a print newspaper, however since 2020 the publication is only available in digital forms. Nambour Railway Station
Nambour railway station is located on the North Coast line in Queensland, Australia. It serves the town of Nambour in the Sunshine Coast Region. History On 16 December 1963, the present station building was opened by Minister for Transport Gordon Chalk. On 11 August 1988, a bus station was opened outside the station by Minister for Transport Ivan Gibbs. South of the station lie stabling sidings for electric multiple units. In 2016 a major upgrade to the station commenced. Services Nambour is the terminus for City network services from Brisbane with two services daily continuing to Gympie. Gympie North railway station is located on the North Coast line in Queensland, Australia. It serves the town of Gympie. History Gympie North was opened on 4 February 1989 as a replacement for Gympie station, when the latter was bypassed by a new eight kilometre alignment that was built as part of the electrification of the North Coast line. Roma Street railway station is located in the Brisbane central business district, Queensland, Australia. It is the junction station for the North Coast, Main, Gold Coast and NSW North Coast lines. Queensland Rail Citytrain Network
The Queensland Rail Citytrain network, provides urban, suburban and interurban electric passenger railway services in South East Queensland, Australia. History The first railway in Queensland did not run to Brisbane, but ran from Ipswich to Grandchester and opened in July 1865. The line into Brisbane was not completed until the opening of the Albert Bridge in July 1875. A start on electrification of the suburban network was approved in 1950 but a change of state government in 1957 saw the scheme abandoned in 1959.
