Ettore G. Mattia
Ettore Mattia (30 May 1910 – 10 October 1982) was an Italian journalist and actor. Life and career Born in Potenza, Mattia was a journalist and a film critic for several newspapers and magazines, and was also press officer of Titanus. Mattia was mainly active as a character actor, and in 1969 he won a Nastro d'Argento for best supporting actor for his performance in Luciano Salce Luciano Salce (25 September 1922 – 17 December 1989) was an Italian film director, comedian, tv host, producer, actor and lyricist. His 1962 film ''Le pillole di Ercole'' was shown as part of a retrospective on Italian comedy at the 67th Ve ...'s '' La pecora nera''. He died of heart attack. Potenza (, also , ; , Potentino dialect: ''Putenz'') is a ''comune'' in the Southern Italian region of Basilicata (former Lucania). ''Monsignor'' is a 1982 American drama film directed by Frank Perry about a Roman Catholic priest's rise through the ranks of the Vatican, during and after World War II. Along the way, he involves the Vatican in the black marketeering operations of a Mafia don, and has an affair with a woman in the postulant stage of becoming a nun. He eventually repents and returns to his faith, attempting to make right the things he has done wrong. The cast includes Christopher Reeve, Geneviève Bujold, Fernando Rey, Jason Miller, Joseph Cortese, Adolfo Celi, and Leonardo Cimino. The film was not well received by critics and performed poorly at the box office; Reeve later blamed this on poor editing.
