Ethiopian Coffee Sport Club ( Amharic: የኢትዮጵያ ቡና ስፖርት ክለብ), otherwise known as ''Ethiopian Buna,'' is a professional Ethiopian football club based in Addis Ababa. They are a member of the Ethiopian Football Federation and play in the top division of Ethiopian Football, the Ethiopian Premier League. Their home stadium is Addis Ababa Stadium. Along with rivals Saint George S.C.it boasts one of the largest fan bases in Ethiopia. History Foundation (1976-1983) Ethiopian Coffee Sport Club has its origins in 1976, when the employees of Kefa Coffee Processing decided to establish a football club. Addis Ababa Stadium
Addis Ababa Stadium is a multi-purpose stadium in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. It is used mostly for football matches although it also has athletics facilities. The stadium has a capacity of 35,000 people. History Addis Ababa Stadium was constructed in 1940 in the Italian ruled Addis Ababa. It hosted several matches during the 1962, 1968 and 1976 African Cup of Nations, including the final of the 1962 (won by Ethiopia over the United Arab Republic) and 1968 editions and the final group stage of the 1976 tournament. The Addis Ababa City Cup (Amharic: አዲስ አበባ ከተማ ዋንጫ) is an annual knockout football competition in men's domestic Ethiopian Football. The tournament is organized by the Addis Ababa Football Federation. It is usually contested among the football clubs based in Addis Ababa with the exception of teams who enter the tournament by invitation. Ultras
Ultras are a type of association football fans who are renowned for their fanatical support. The term originated in Italy, but is used worldwide to describe predominantly organised fans of association football teams. The behavioural tendency of ultras groups includes their use of flares (primarily in tifo choreography), vocal support in large groups and the displaying of banners at football stadiums, all of which are designed to create an atmosphere which encourages their own team and intimidates the opposing players and their supporters. The Ethiopia Commodity Exchange (ECX) is a commodities exchange established April 2008 in Ethiopia. In Proclamation 2007-550, which created the ECX, its stated objective was "to ensure the development of an efficient modern trading system" that would "protect the rights and benefits of sellers, buyers, intermediaries, and the general public." The ECX is set up as a private company owned by a partnership of the market actors, members of the exchange, and the Ethiopian government, led by Eleni Gebre Medhin a former economist for the International Food Policy Research Institute and the World Bank. As of July 2011, the physical presence of the ECX consists of 55 warehouses in 17 regional locations.
