Ethelbert is an unincorporated urban community in the Municipality of Ethelbert, Manitoba, Canada. Originally incorporated as a village in 1950, the community was re-classified as an unincorporated urban community on 1 January 2015, following the municipal amalgamations in Manitoba. Located near Duck Mountain Provincial Park on PTH 10, the community is northwest of Winnipeg and north of Dauphin, Manitoba. The primary industries of Ethelbert are agriculture, logging and tourism. The Municipality of Ethelbert is a rural municipality (RM) in the Canadian province of Manitoba. History The RM was incorporated on January 1, 2015 via the amalgamation of the RM of Ethelbert and the Town of Ethelbert. It was formed as a requirement of ''The Municipal Amalgamations Act'', which required that municipalities with a population less than 1,000 amalgamate with one or more neighbouring municipalities by 2015.
