Ethel R. Harraden
Ethel Rosalie Glover (; 1857–1917) was an English pianist, composer and music critic. Life Ethel Rosalie Harraden was born in Islington, Middlesex, England, in 1857, the daughter of Samuel Harraden, a London/ Calcutta agent, and studied at the Royal Academy of Music. After completing her studies, she worked as a pianist and composer. She married Frank Glover and settled in Leamington Spa Royal Leamington Spa, commonly known as Leamington Spa or simply Leamington (), is a spa town and civil parish in Warwickshire, England. Originally a small village called Leamington Priors, it grew into a spa town in the 18th century following .... Harraden became interested in composing for the stage, sometimes collaborating with her brother Herbert Harraden. She reviewed for the ''Leamington Spa Courier'', a newspaper owned by her husband. The Sketch
''The Sketch'' was a British illustrated weekly journal. It ran for 2,989 issues between 1 February 1893 and 17 June 1959. It was published by the Illustrated London News Company and was primarily a society magazine with regular features on royalty, aristocracy and high society, as well as theatre, cinema and the arts. It had a high photographic content with many studies of society ladies and their children as well as regular layouts of point to point racing meetings and similar events. Clement Shorter and William Ingram started ''The Sketch'' in 1893.
