Luis Estévez (c. 1930 – November 28, 2014) was a Cuban-born American fashion designer and costume designer, active between 1951 until 1997. According to the ''New York Times'', "Luis Estevez always did make a lady look like a vamp", known for his high slits, slinky dresses and dramatic necklines. Felipe de Jesús Estévez (born February 5, 1946) is a Cuban-born prelate of the Roman Catholic Church who was bishop of the Diocese of St. Augustine in Florida from 2011 to 2022. Estévez previously served as an auxiliary bishop of the Archdiocese of Miami in Florida from 2003 to 2011. Biography Early life Felipe Estévez was born in Pedro Betancourt, Cuba on February 6, 1946. He fled to the United States as a young man under Operation Peter Pan, a program to bring Cuban children to the United States. He is the second of three children (two boys and a girl) of Adriano and Estrella Estevez. Estévez studied at Montreal University in Montreal, Quebec, and received a Licentiate of Theology in 1970. Gabriela Beatriz Estévez (born 11 February 1978) is an Argentine politician, currently serving as National Deputy representing Córdoba. A member of the Justicialist Party, Estévez was first elected in 2015 for the Front for Victory, and was re-elected in 2019 as part of the Frente de Todos. She is a member of La Cámpora. Carlos Samuel Estévez (born December 28, 1992) is a Dominican professional baseball pitcher for the Los Angeles Angels of Major League Baseball (MLB). He has previously played in MLB for the Colorado Rockies. Career Colorado Rockies Estévez signed with the Rockies as a free agent in 2011, at the age of 18. Antonio José Estévez Aponte (January 3, 1916 in Calabozo (Guárico) – November 26, 1988 in Caracas), was a Venezuelan musician, composer and conductor. He founded the Central University of Venezuela's Chorus. Compositions His best known work is the Cantata Criolla, released on July 25, 1954, winning the National Music Award and perhaps the most important Venezuelan nationalist work of the 20th century.
