Estádio Municipal 25 de Julho is a multi-purpose stadium in the town of Pedra Badejo in the municipality of Santa Cruz on the east of Santiago Island, Cape Verde, it is hundreds of meters west of the center and the Atlantic and hundreds of meters north of the old Praia-Pedra Badejo-Tarrafal highway. The stadium is named after one of the holidays celebrated on July 25. It is currently used mostly for football matches. The stadium holds 1,00 people and its dimensions is 100 x 64 meters. It is operated by the Santiago North Regional Football Association (ARFSN). The stadium is home to Pedra Badejo's best clubs including Scorpion Vermelho, Benfica (one of three on the island, two are called Benfica, the other is in Praia) and Desportivo. Santiago Island League (North Zone)
The Santiago Island League was a regional championship played in all of Santiago Island until 2002 when it was broken up into two present divisions, the North and the South zones, Cape Verde. It formed a part of the Santiago Regional Football Association (''Associação Regional de Futebol de Santiago, ARFS'') The winner of the championship had played in Cape Verdean football Championships of each season. The island league was one of the two oldest in Cape Verde. Until the 1960s, the league included clubs from the entire southern portion of Cape Verde and functioned as a regional league. The island of Santiago in Cape Verde in the middle of the Sotavento Islands is home to several teams and clubs. The major professional clubs are Sporting Praia, Boavista Praia and CD Travadores, semi-pro teams includes Académica da Praia and Desportivo da Praia. 2018 Cape Verdean Football Championships
The 2018 Cape Verdean Football Championship season is the 39th beginner level (likely amateur) competition of the first-tier football in Cape Verde. Also it was another season that it was sponsored by a clothing company Tecnicil, it was also known as the 2018 Cape Verdean Tecnicil football season or the 2018 Tecnicil Football Championships.
