Esteban Meneses
Professor Esteban Meneses (born 13 September 1972), is a former Argentine rugby union player, now head coach of the Uruguay national rugby union team, Uruguayan national team. Playing Meneses, born in La Plata, played for his local team for most of his playing career. Starting out in the junior section at his club La Plata Rugby Club, La Plata at a young age, Meneses moved through the ranks to senior rugby in 1992. He was part of the La Plata team that won the last Torneo de la URBA, URBA Championship organised by the national union before it became a regional competition, and helped his side to second place in the Nacional de Clubes, Nacional de Clubes competition. In 1999, Meneses signed with Italian side Rugby Calvisano, Calvisano, which saw him play second tier European Rugby during the 1999–2000 European Challenge Cup. 2016 World Rugby Nations Cup
The 2016 World Rugby Cup of Nations was the eleventh edition of the World Rugby Nations Cup rugby union tournament, created by World Rugby (formerly IRB). As with the previous nine tournaments, the competition took place in the Stadionul Naţional de Rugby in Bucharest, Romania. Due to Georgia's tour of the Pacific Islands in June, the World Rugby Tbilisi Cup did not take place. Instead, this tournament featured six teams split in two pools of three, where the three European teams played the other three teams. This format was last used in 2012. The 2016 Sudamérica Rugby Cup was the third edition of the Sudamérica Rugby Cup, and its first with the current name, since CONSUR had re-branded itself as Sudamérica Rugby in July 2015. Argentina were automatically seeded and qualified for the tournament as the top ranked side in South America, while Chile and Uruguay qualified by virtue of being the top two ranked teams in the 2015 South American Rugby Championship "A". Argentina XV, formerly known as the Jaguares, are the second national rugby union team in Argentina, after the full national side, the Pumas. The 2016 Americas Rugby Championship was the first series of the Americas Rugby Championship (sometimes informally called the "Americas Six Nations", a reference to Europe's Six Nations Championship), a new annual western hemisphere rugby union championship. It was contested by Argentina XV (Argentina's secondary national team), Canada, United States, Uruguay, Brazil, and Chile.
