Esteban Espíndola
Esteban Ezequiel Espíndola López (born 22 March 1992) is an Argentine professional Association football, footballer who plays as a Defender (association football)#Centre-back, centre-back. Club career Espíndola began his career with Argentine Primera División club Club Atlético River Plate, River Plate, appearing on the bench twice in the league prior to making his debut in the 2012–13 Copa Argentina against Estudiantes de Buenos Aires, Estudiantes. In July 2013, Espíndola joined fellow Argentine football league system, top-flight team Atlético de Rafaela on loan. Over the course of the 2013–14 Argentine Primera División season he made just three appearances for Rafaela. 2014 saw him join Primera B Nacional's Club Atlético Nueva Chicago, Nueva Chicago on a permanent deal, however he left less than a year later without making an appearance. Primera Nacional (usually called simply Nacional B, in English "National B Division", and known as Primera B Nacional until the 2019–20 season) is the second division of the Argentine football league system. The competition is made up of 37 teams. It is played by teams from all over the country. Clubs from Buenos Aires surroundings, as well as some from Santa Fe Province, are promoted from or relegated to the Primera B Metropolitana ("Metropolitan B Division") while for teams from the other provinces the Torneo Federal A ("Federal A Tournament") is the next level down. The 2018–19 Argentine Torneo Federal A, is the 6th season of the third tier of the Argentine football league system. The tournament is reserved for teams indirectly affiliated to the Asociación del Fútbol Argentino (AFA), while teams affiliated to AFA have to play the Primera B Metropolitana, which is the other third tier competition. The champion is promoted to Primera B Nacional. 36 teams are competing in the league, 29 returning from the 2017–18 season, 3 teams that were relegated from Primera B Nacional and 4 teams promoted from Federal B. The 2017–18 Argentine Primera B Nacional is the 33rd season of the Argentine second division. The season began in September 2017 and ended in June 2018. Twenty-five teams competed in the league, seventeen returning from the 2016–17 season, four teams that were relegated from Primera División and two teams promoted from Federal A and B Metropolitana. Competition format The league's format changed from the previous season. Twenty-five teams play each other once for a total of twenty-four matches each. The 2016–17 Argentine Primera División – Torneo de la Independencia was the 127th season of top-flight professional football in Argentina. The tournament was named in commemoration of the 200th anniversary of the Independence of Argentina. The season began on August 26, 2016 and ended on June 27, 2017.
