Esteban Batista
Esteban Damián Batista Hernández (born September 2, 1983) is a Uruguayan professional basketball player for Club Nacional de Football of the Liga Uruguaya de Basketball. He was the first ever Uruguayan to play in the NBA. Professional career Batista began his pro career in the Uruguayan League in 2001. He then moved to the second division of Spain, the Spanish LEB League in 2003. NBA Batista was signed as a free agent by the Atlanta Hawks on September 12, 2005. He made his NBA debut on November 2 of that year, going scoreless in 6 minutes of play time against the Golden State Warriors. In his first NBA season, Batista averaged 1.8 points per game and 2.5 rebounds per game in 8.7 minutes per game, in 57 games played. The center (C), or the centre, also known as the five or the pivot, is one of the five Basketball position, positions in a regulation basketball game. The center is normally the tallest player on the team, and often has a great deal of strength and body mass as well. In the NBA, the center is typically close to tall. Basketball at the 2007 Pan American Games took place at the indoor arena in the Autódromo de Jacarépagua in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, an arena which was built specially for the Pan Am Games. Brazil was the reigning Pan American champion in the men's competition, while Cuba defended its title in the women's competition. Each competition had eight teams divided in two groups. In each group, each team played against all others once and the two best advanced to the semifinals. The two latter in each group played in 5th to 8th classification matches. The 2014–15 Greek Basketball Cup competition was the 40th edition of the top-tier level professional national domestic basketball cup competition of Greece. The competition started on September 21, 2014, and ended on April 5, 2015. Panathinaikos beat Apollon Patras by a score of 53–68 in the Greek Cup Finals, to win its fourth straight cup title, and 16th cup title overall. The 2016–17 LBA season, was the 95th season of the Lega Basket Serie A (LBA), known for sponsorship reasons as the Serie A PosteMobile, the highest-tier level professional basketball league in Italy. The regular season started on 2 October 2016 and finished on 7 May 2017, with the playoffs started on 12 May (dependent on an Italian club qualifying for the 2017 EuroLeague Final Four or for the 2017 Champions League Playoffs) and finished between 16 and 22 June depending on results.
