Essunga Municipality (''Essunga kommun'') is a municipality in Västra Götaland County in western Sweden. Its seat is located in the town of Nossebro. The 1952 municipal reform in Sweden saw the creation of Essunga Municipality out of eight original entities. Alingsås Municipality (''Alingsås kommun'') is a municipalities of Sweden, municipality in Västra Götaland County in western Sweden. Its seat is located in the stad (Sweden), city of Alingsås. The present municipality was formed in 1974 then the former ''City of Alingsås'' (itself a municipality of unitary type since the subdivision reform of 1971) was amalgamated with Bjärke and Hemsjö. Trollhättan Municipality
Trollhättan Municipality (''Trollhättans kommun'' or ''Trollhättans stad'') is a municipality in Västra Götaland County in western Sweden. Its seat is located in the city of Trollhättan. The municipality was created gradually in 1967, 1971 and 1974 during the last local government reform when the ''City of Trollhättan'' (itself instituted in 1916) was amalgamated with surrounding municipalities. The municipality itself prefers to use the denomination ''Trollhättans stad'' (''City of Trollhättan'') for the entire territory, including rural areas. This is purely nominal and has no effect on its status as a unitary municipality. Until 2012 it was the home of the now defunct Saab Automobile. Vårgårda Municipality ( sv, Vårgårda kommun) is a municipalities of Sweden, municipality in Västra Götaland County in western Sweden. Its seat is located in the town of Vårgårda. It borders Alingsås Municipality to the west, Herrljunga Municipality to the east, Essunga Municipality to the north, Bollebygd Municipality, Bollebygd and Borås Municipality, Borås Municipalities to the south. The local government reform of 1952 formed this municipality through the amalgamation of many small municipalities. It got its name from the only larger built-up locality in the area, Vårgårda. Its territory was not affected by the reform of 1971. The Swedish Christian revival, religious revival in the 19th century was strong in Vårgårda Municipality, and the Christianity, Christian climate is today dispersed in many denominations. Grästorp Municipality (''Grästorps kommun'') is a municipality in Västra Götaland County in western Sweden. Its seat is located in the town of Grästorp. Grästorp Municipality is located right in the middle of Västra Götaland County, by the shores of Lake Vänern. History In the year 1900 the village Grästorp was detached from Tengene and made a market town (''köping''). The local government reform of 1952 amalgamated it with twelve surrounding municipalities (among them Tengene). The 1971 reform made the term ''köping'' obsolete, thus forming Grästorps kommun without amendment of territory. The area has been inhabited at least since the Viking Age as it contains several runestones.
