Esporte Clube Cruzeiro, commonly known as Cruzeiro de Arapiraca or just Cruzeiro, is a Brazilian football club based in Arapiraca, Alagoas. Founded in 1983, dissolved in 1997, and refounded in 2019, the club plays in the Campeonato Alagoano. History Founded on 7 September 1983, the club first reached the first division of the Campeonato Alagoano in 1987. The club reached the fourth position in the 1994 Copa do Nordeste, before being dissolved in 1997. During that period, international footballer Dida played at the club. In July 2019, after nearly 23 years inactive, Cruzeiro was refounded. The club returned to a senior competition in the 2021 Campeonato Alagoano Segunda Divisão, reaching the first division after 26 years. Cruzeiro also won the 2022 Copa Alagoas, and achieved a place in the 2023 Série D. 2023 Campeonato Brasileiro Série D
The 2023 Campeonato Brasileiro Série D is a football competition held in Brazil, equivalent to the fourth division. The competition began on 6 May and will end on 23 September 2023. Sixty-four teams compete in the tournament. Sixty teams qualified from their state leagues and cups, and four relegated from the 2022 Campeonato Brasileiro Série C ( Atlético Cearense, Brasil de Pelotas, Campinense and Ferroviário). The Copa Alagoas is a tournament organized by Federação Alagoana de Futebol every second half of the season. The champions qualify for the Campeonato Brasileiro Série D. History Founded in 2005 as the second phase of the Campeonato Alagoano, the Copa Alagoas was a part of the tournament in the 2005, 2006 and 2007 editions. Campeonato Brasileiro Série D
The Campeonato Brasileiro Série D (English: Brazilian Championship Serie D) is the fourth division of the Brazilian football league system, and was announced by the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) on April 9, 2008. The Campeonato Brasileiro Série D was formed from the split of the Série C, keeping its best 20 clubs and playing double round robin as does the top three divisions. The Série D keeps the same format of the older Série C, but with participation limited to 40 clubs recognized by the state federation. In 2016 the Série D was expanded to 68 clubs, but in 2022 it will be reduced to 64 clubs. Dida (footballer, Born 1973)
Nélson de Jesus Silva (born 7 October 1973), better known simply as Dida (), is a Brazilian former footballer who played as a goalkeeper. After starting his senior club career in Brazil in the early 1990s with Vitória, Dida became a penalty kick-saving specialist with Cruzeiro and Corinthians. He is perhaps best remembered for his ten-year stint with AC Milan from 2000 to 2010, where he established himself as one of the world's best goalkeepers and won multiple trophies and individual awards with the club.
