Eskimo Kisses (foaled February 26, 2015) is an American Thoroughbred racehorse who won the 2018 Alabama Stakes. Career Eskimo Kisses was foaled on February 26, 2015. Eskimo's first race was on November 25, 2017, at Keeneland Racecourse, where she finished 2nd. Eskimo won her first race on February 1, 2018, at Oaklawn Park. She followed that up with a 2nd win on February 22. Eskimo's next and highest grade win came on August 18, 2018, when she won the 2018 Alabama Stakes. Bernardini (March 23, 2003 – July 30, 2021) was a champion American Thoroughbred racehorse who won the 2006 Preakness Stakes and Travers Stakes. Background A son of A.P. Indy, he is out of Cara Rafaela, who won almost a million dollars during her racing career. Her sire was Quiet American, who also produced Real Quiet, a horse that came within a nose of winning the 1998 Triple Crown. Bernardini was trained by Thomas Albertrani. He was owned by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates and ruler of Dubai. Seattle Slew (February 15, 1974 – May 7, 2002) was a champion American Thoroughbred horse racing, racehorse who became the tenth winner of the Triple Crown of Thoroughbred Racing (United States), American Triple Crown (1977). Reviewer (April 30, 1966 – June 6, 1977) was an American Thoroughbred racehorse best known as the sire of U.S. Racing Hall of Fame filly Ruffian. Background Foaled in Kentucky, the dark bay colt was owned and bred by Ogden Phipps. He was a son of Bold Ruler, an important Champion sire, and his damsire was Hasty Road, who won the 1954 Preakness Stakes. Racing career Trained by Hall of Fame inductee Edward A. Neloy, in 1970 the then four-year-old Reviewer set a new Belmont Park track record of 1:46 4/5 for 1⅛ miles in winning the Nassau County Handicap. He finished his racing career with a record of 13: 9-3-1, and he won $247,223. Stud record Ruffian was foaled in Reviewer's first crop. The filly was euthanized in 1975 following surgery to repair a broken leg sustained in a race. Miswaki (February 22, 1978 – December 17, 2004) was an American-bred Thoroughbred racehorse that was a Group One winner in France and a stakes race winner in the United States. He was an important sire of 97 stakes race winners and was the Leading broodmare sire in Great Britain and Ireland in 1999 and 2001. Breeding and ownership Bred in Florida, Miswaki was sired by the very important Mr. Prospector that became a two-time leading sire in North America and a nine-time leading broodmare sire in North America. Vice Regent
Vice Regent (April 29, 1967 – June 18, 1995) was a Canadian Hall of Fame Thoroughbred racehorse and Canada's leading sire for thirteen years. Owned and bred by E. P. Taylor, he was from Northern Dancer's second crop and out of the mare Victoria Regina, a daughter of the French multiple stakes winner Menetrier whom E. P. Taylor purchased as a sire from François Dupré and imported to Canada. Vice Regent was a full brother to Viceregal who earned Canadian Horse of the Year honours as a two-year-old in 1968. Weekend Surprise (April 8, 1980 – March 13, 2001) was an American Thoroughbred racehorse and dam of 1992 American Horse of the Year A.P. Indy and 1990 Preakness Stakes winner Summer Squall.
