Eshkolot (Jewish Studies Book Series)
"Eshkolot" is a Jewish Studies book series, edited by Amos Geula, a project of the Herzog College research institute that is published by the research authority of Herzog College in collaboration with the World Union of Jewish Studies. The Judaic Studies series includes works from the various fields of Judaism, which have a significant contribution and are a complete study of a particular subject or a critical edition (scientific edition) of a manuscript with a comprehensive introduction. Each book is accompanied by a professional academic committee and undergoes academic editing as well as peer review. Some of the books in the series have unique databases open to the public which can be found on the Herzog College's Research Authority website under "Herzog Databases". Israel Science Foundation
The Israel Science Foundation (ISF) is a nonprofit organization that provides monetary grants for scientific research in Israel. It is the Israeli analogue of scientific funding bodies in other countries such as the US National Science Foundation or the Canadian Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council. Moses Rosen
Moses Rosen (known in Hebrew as David Moshe Rosen, ) (July 23, 1912 – May 6, 1994) was Chief Rabbi (Rav Kolel) of Romanian Jewry between 1948–1994 and president of the Federation of Jewish Communities of Romania between 1964–1994. He led the community through the entire Communist era in Romania and continued in that role after the restoration of democracy following the Romanian Revolution of 1989. In 1957, he became a deputy in the Romanian parliament (the Great National Assembly), a position he held through the Communist regime, and after 1989, in the democratic parliament. In the 1980s, the Romanian authorities allowed him to receive Israeli nationality and he was elected president of the Council of the Jewish Diaspora Museum in Tel Aviv. Yad Vashem
Yad Vashem ( he, יָד וַשֵׁם; literally, "a memorial and a name") is Israel's official memorial to the victims of the Holocaust. It is dedicated to preserving the memory of the Jews who were murdered; honoring Jews who fought against their Nazi oppressors and Gentiles who selflessly aided Jews in need; and researching the phenomenon of the Holocaust in particular and genocide in general, with the aim of avoiding such events in the future. Eshkolot ( he, אֶשְׁכּוֹלוֹת, lit. ''Bunches'') is a secular Israeli settlement in the southern Judaean Mountains of the West Bank. Located around five kilometers from Lahav, it is organized as a community settlement and falls within the jurisdiction of the Har Hevron Regional Council. In it had a population of . The international community considers Israeli settlements in the West Bank illegal under international law, but the Israeli government disputes this. History The village was first established in 1982 as a Nahal settlement and was turned over to civilians in 1991. The name of the city is taken from the well-known vineyards in Hebron.
