Eseries
The Nokia Eseries consists of business-oriented smartphones running Symbian OS, with emphasis on enhanced connectivity and support for corporate e-mail push services, as well as enterprise-styled products and many featuring QWERTY keyboards. All devices have advanced office features through its Series 60, S60 platform. Phones equipped with Wireless LAN also provide a VoIP client (Session Initiation Protocol, SIP Protocol). Throughout the series' lifetime its main competitors were BlackBerry products from Research In Motion. The Eseries was marketed until 2011. Nokia Phone Series
Nokia's strategic nomenclature can be traced back in 2005 when the Nseries line was launched, offering devices with flagship specifications and premium hardware at various price points. These devices were considered the "bread and butter" of the company and were often positioned to showcase their latest technologies. Thanks to the newfound consumer and enterprise interest in smartphones at the time, the company introduced four additional collections to diversify their product portfolio and meet demands in most market segments. Nokia E6
The Nokia E6-00 is a smartphone running the Symbian^3 operating system. It supersedes the Nokia E72 as the new Symbian business mobility solution from Nokia following its announcement on 12 April 2011 (same day as Nokia X7-00). It shipped with the new "Symbian Anna" version of Symbian^3, and originally retailed for 340 euros before taxes. The smartphone is notable for its backlit 4-rows QWERTY keyboard and touch screen input methods, for its long battery life (Talktime : 7.5 to 14.8 h and Standby : 28 to 31 days), the out-of-the-box access to Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync, Microsoft Communicator Mobile and Microsoft SharePoint and the high pixel density of its VGA display (326ppi). Nokia E61i
The Nokia E61 is a smartphone from the Eseries range, a S60 3rd Edition device targeting business users in the European market. It was announced as part of the new Eseries business line on 12 October 2005 along with the Nokia E60 and E70. As of Q4 2006 Cingular and Rogers Wireless have deployed a similar yet restricted version designated the Nokia E62 in the North American and Brazilian markets. The E62 is substantially similar but without an 802.11 WiFi chipset or W-CDMA (UMTS) 3G support. E61 supports 900/1800/1900 bands, while E62 can operate in 850/900/1800/1900 in order to support American networks. On 12 February 2007 Nokia announced the E61i as a follow up product. Nokia E50
The Nokia E50 Business Device is a bar-style monoblock quad-band smartphone from Nokia announced 18 May 2006 as part of the Eseries, intended primarily for the corporate business market. It includes sophisticated e-mail support for Nokia's Intellisync Wireless Email, BlackBerry Connect, Visto Mobile, Activesync Mail for Exchange, Altexia as well as IMAP4. It also has the ability to view Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel attachments, and PDF documents but it cannot be used for editing these without additional apps. An application manager downloads, removes and installs both Nokia and third-party applications. Device to device synchronization is possible with Data transfer application. Nokia E52
The Nokia E52 and Nokia E55 are smartphones from Nokia's business-oriented Eseries range. They run Symbian OS v9.3 ( S60 3rd Edition FP1). The E55 was announced on 16 February 2009, whilst the E52 was announced later on 6 May 2009. They are both physically and functionally identical, except that the E55 has a 'half-QWERTY' keyboard, similar to the SureType keyboard on BlackBerry Pearl, whereas the E52 revision has a traditional T9 keypad. They are available in Black, Black Aluminum, Metal Grey aluminium, White Aluminium and Gold. They came with a 1GB MicroSD memory card, but it supports MicroSD cards with up to 32GB memory. It also has 60 MB free user memory. The E52 is the successor to Nokia's successful E51 model. Latest firmware version is v091.004 released on June 2, 2012. Nokia E72
The Nokia E72 is a smartphone from the Nokia Eseries range manufactured in Finland. The Nokia E72 was announced on June 15, 2009 at the Nokia Connections 2009 event in Singapore.. It is the successor to the Nokia E71 and is based on a similar design and form factor, and offers a similar feature set. The Nokia E70 is a candybar/fold keyboard type smartphone from the Eseries range, announced in October 2005 and released in May 2006. There are two models of this phone, the E70-1 for the world market with tri-band (900, 1800, 1900 MHz) GSM and UMTS, and the E70-2 for the Americas with tri-band (850, 1800, 1900 MHz) GSM and EDGE packet data capability. Nokia E90
Nokia E90 Communicator was a high-end 3G smartphone from Nokia, the fifth generation Communicator, and also part of the Eseries. It was announced on 11 February 2007 at the 3GSM show in Barcelona. It succeeded the Nokia 9500 Communicator as the company's flagship business-oriented device. Its clamshell form and design are reminiscent of older palmtop computers. Unlike its predecessors, the E90 runs on the S60 platform of Symbian OS (3rd Edition Feature Pack 1 and v9.2 respectively). Previous Communicators meanwhile have been based on either GeOS or Symbian-based Series 80. The move to the common S60 was good for software compatibility, but it did get rid of some exclusive Series 80 UI behaviours.
