Academy Of San Carlos
The Academy of San Carlos ( es, Academia de San Carlos) is located at 22 Academia Street in just northeast of the main plaza of Mexico City. It was the first major art academy and the first art museum in the Americas. It was founded in 1781 as the School of Engraving and moved to the Academia Street location about 10 years later. It emphasized classical European training until the early 20th century, when it shifted to a more modern perspective. At this time, it also integrated with the National Autonomous University of Mexico, eventually becoming the Faculty of Arts and Design, which is based in Xochimilco. Currently, only graduate courses of the modern school are given in the original academy building. The Escuela Nacional de Bellas Artes (ENBA, or National School of Fine Arts) is the main center of education and training of artists in the Republic of Honduras. History Precursors On 15 April 1878, the first precursor to the ENBA was registered in this field with the establishment of a school for drawing and painting located in Tegucigalpa; the Academy of Fine Arts and Applied Drawing to the Industrial Arts was created in 1890, founded and directed by Tomás Mur, of Spanish nationality. Escuela Nacional de Bellas Artes (ENBA, or National School of Fine Arts) is a national fine arts institution located in Managua, Nicaragua. Academia Nacional de Bellas Artes San Alejandro, is the oldest and most prestigious fine arts school in Cuba. It is also known as Escuela Nacional de Bellas Artes "San Alejandro", Academia San Alejandro, or San Alejandro Academy. Escuela Nacional Superior Autónoma de Bellas Artes del Perú (ENSABAP) (National Superior Autonomous School of Fine Arts) is a fine arts school in Lima, Peru. It is located in Barrios Altos, a suburb of Lima District. It was founded in 1918, by President José Pardo y Barreda and Peruvian painter Daniel Hernández, who was its first director.
