Escape In The Desert
''Escape in the Desert'' is a 1945 American drama film directed by Edward A. Blatt and written by Marvin Borowsky and Thomas Job. The film stars Jean Sullivan, Philip Dorn, Irene Manning, Helmut Dantine, Alan Hale, Sr. and Samuel S. Hinds. The film was released by Warner Bros. on May 1, 1945. The opening credits say that ''Escape in the Desert'' is adapted “from a play by Robert E Sherwood” without identifying the work: ''The Petrified Forest.'' Warner Bros. had adapted Sherwood's play for the screen in 1936. Plot The action takes place in the southwestern United States late in World War II. Four POWs from Nazi Germany escape American custody and eventually wind up taking over a small gas station/hotel in the desert. They plan to obtain a fueled-up vehicle and flee the country. Thomas Hervè Job-Iyock (born 20 August 1984) is a Cameroonian footballer. Career Club career Born in Douala, Cameroon, Job began his career in Italy with Sampdoria, making one appearance for the club in the 2001–02 season in Serie B, when he came on as a second-half substitute on 2 June 2002 in a 1–0 home defeat to Siena. In February 2001 he was involved in an investigation by the Italian Football Federation over the alleged falsification of documents for him and two other African players at Sampdoria, along with three club officials. In July 2001, he was banned along with Jean Ondoa and Francis Zé. He was sent on loan to Serie C2 club Cremonese for the 2002–03 season, where he made 24 appearances, scoring eleven goals. Rudolph Anders
Rudolph Anders (December 17, 1895 – March 27, 1987) was a German character actor who came to the United States after the rise of Hitler, and appeared in numerous American films in the 1940s, 1950s, and 1960s. Biography He was born Rudolf Franz Amendt in Waldkirch, Baden, Germany. In the United States during the 1940s, he used the stage name of Robert O. Davis, and after the War used the name Rudolph Anders. His German-accented English confined him largely to "accent roles", and during World War II to villain parts, although not leading roles as his small build, wide eyes, soft voice and naturally quiet demeanor did not allow him to appear overly menacing. He was naturalized an American citizen in 1934, and was married. Anders died in Woodland Hills, Los Angeles, California.
