Esbønderup is a parish and small town situated north of Lake Esrum in Gribskov Municipality, North Zealand. some north of Copenhagen, Denmark. As of 1 January 2022, it had a population of 1,190. History The name is known from 1178 as ''Esbiornsthorp'', derived from the male name Esbiorn (Esben) and the suffix '' -thorp''. Other villages in the parish of Esbønderup were Esrum (1100: ''Esrom''), Saltrup (1359: ''Salthorp''), Villingebæk (1100: ''Widelingbec'') and Villingerød 1178: ''Withlingeruth''). The second doctor in Kronborg County was stationed in Esbønderup in 1738. Kronborg County Hospital (''Kronborg Amtssygehus'') opened in 1866 at the initiative of Friederich Carl von Gram, two years before Frederiks Hospital opened in Copenhagen. It was a small building, nine bays long and three bays wide, half timbered and with a straw roof. A public hospital was not opened in Helsingør until 1764. Tikøb
Tikøb is a small town and parish located 8 km west of Helsingør and six km north of Fredensborg, between Lake Esrum to the southwest and Gurre Lake to the east. in Helsingør Municipality, some 40 km north of Copenhagen, Denmark. History Tikøb was probably founded during the late Viking period. The name is first documented as ''Tiwithcop'' in Esrom Abbey's Book of Letters (''Esrum Klosters Brevbog'') in 1170. It is believed that that name means "acquired land in/by the forest dedicated to the Gods". The sparsely populated was the largest parish on Zealand and one of the largest in Denmark. Gribskov Municipality
Gribskov Kommune is a municipality (Danish, '' kommune'') in Region Hovedstaden ("Capital Region"). The municipality covers an area of 278 km², and has a total population of 40,850 (1 April 2014). The municipality was created on 1 January 2007 as a merger of the former municipalities of Græsted-Gilleleje and Helsinge. Its mayor as of 1 January 2018 is Anders Gerner Frost, a member of the local Nytgribskov (''New Gribskov'') political party. Herman Siegumfeldt
Herman Carl Siegumfeldt (18 September 1833 - 27 June 1912) was a Danish genre and landscape painter. Biography Siegumfeldt was born at Haregabsgaarden in the parish of Esbønderup in North Zealand, Denmark. He was the son of Heinrich Anton Siegumfeldt, a farmer, and Maren Cathrine Schou. Nødebo
Nødebo is a village located on the southwestern shores of Lake Esrum in Hillerød Municipality, North Zealand, some 40 km north of Copenhagen, Denmark. Nødebo Church, the oldest in the area, is notable for its church frescos and its early 16th century altarpiece. Nødebo Kro a historic inn, now serves as a community centre and local cultural venue. Frank Jæger
Frank Jæger (19 June 1926 - 4 July 1977) was a Danish writer most known for his poetry and radio plays. He received the Grand Prize of the Danish Academy in 1969. He also edited two volumes of ''Heretica'' magazine with Tage Skou-Hansen. Early life and education Jæger was born in the Frederiksberg district of Copenhagen on 19 June 1926.
