Eruption (1997 Film)
''Eruption'' is a 1997 American-Peruvian film directed by Gwyneth Gibby. It was filmed in Peru for Roger Corman's New Horizons. The film was part of the "disaster boom" that followed the success of ''Twister''. Premise An American photographer ventures into the Amazon rainforest in order to interview the revolutionary leader who opposes a Latin American regime. Roger Corman
Roger William Corman (born April 5, 1926) is an American film director, producer, and actor. He has been called "The Pope of Pop Cinema" and is known as a trailblazer in the world of independent film. Many of Corman's films are based on works that have an already-established critical reputation, such as his cycle of low-budget cult films adapted from the tales of Edgar Allan Poe. In 1964, Corman—admired by members of the French New Wave and '' Cahiers du Cinéma''—became the youngest filmmaker to have a retrospective at the Cinémathèque Française, as well as in the British Film Institute and the Museum of Modern Art. New Concorde (NC) is an American Los Angeles, California based film distribution company founded by Roger Corman. NC got its start in 1983 when Corman formed the production and distribution Concorde-New Horizons (CNH) as one of the first production companies to develop and take advantage of video as a distribution tool.
