Ersatz Audio
Ersatz Audio is an independent record label based in Detroit, Michigan, specializing in electropunk. The label was started, and continues to be run by, Adam Lee Miller and Nicola Kuperus, who founded the label in part to release records for their own band, Adult. Also on Ersatz Audio are the artists Magas, Tamion 12 Inch, and Blind Leads Nakid, all with a similar sound and concept to Adult. Ersatz Audio also released the compilation album ''Auto-Biography'' of Adam Lee's Miller's band Le Car with Ian Clark. Independent Record Label
An independent record label (or indie label) is a record label that operates without the funding or distribution of major record labels; they are a type of small- to medium-sized enterprise, or SME. The labels and artists are often represented by trade associations in their country or region, which in turn are represented by the international trade body, the Worldwide Independent Network (WIN). Many of the labels started as producers and distributors of specific genres of music, such as jazz music, or represent something new and non-mainstream, such as Elvis Presley in the early days. Indies release rock, soul, R&B, jazz, blues, gospel, reggae, hip hop, and world music. Music appearing on indie labels is often referred to as indie music, or more specifically by genre, such as indie hip-hop. Le Car (band)
Le Car was an American electronic musical group from Detroit, Michigan, comprising Ian Clark and Adam Lee Miller. From 1995 to 1998, Le Car generated club techno and lo-fi electronica. Miller later went on to form ADULT.; Clark formed Perspects. Recording history Le Car were featured on the album ''Electro Juice'' and five compilation albums released by Austrian electronica label Sabotage alongside fellow recording artists such as Patrick Pulsinger, Def Con, and the Private Lightning Six. Ersatz Audio has also released tracks by Miller and Clark solo projects Artificial Material and Lesseninglesson respectively. Ersatz Audio released the compilation album ''Auto-Biography'' in the United States on August 31, 2000. The album garnered favorable reviews from critics. Techno Record Labels
Techno is a Music genre, genre of electronic dance music (EDM) which is generally music production, produced for use in a continuous DJ set, with tempo often varying between 120 and 150 beats per minute (bpm). The central Drum beat, rhythm is typically in common time (4/4) and often characterized by a repetitive four on the floor (music), four on the floor beat. AllMusic (previously known as All Music Guide and AMG) is an American online music database. It catalogs more than three million album entries and 30 million tracks, as well as information on musicians and bands. Initiated in 1991, the database was first made available on the Internet in 1994. AllMusic is owned by RhythmOne. Magas (russian: Мага́с) is the capital city, capital types of inhabited localities in Russia, town of Ingushetia, Russia.
