''Ersatz'' is the debut album by French singer Julien Doré, winner of the fifth season of the television show ''Nouvelle Star''. The album was released worldwide on 16 June 2008 on Sony BMG. It entered the French charts at number 2 and stayed in the top 200 for almost two years. Tracks 1 and 5 were written by Mark Daumail of Cocoon and featured Cocoon's other half, Morgan Imbeaud. Julien Doré
Julien Doré (; born 7 July 1982) is a French singer-songwriter, musician and actor. He is the winner of the fifth season of the television show ''Nouvelle Star'', aired on the French Television M6 channel. He is also the great-great-grandson of Gustave Doré, a well-known illustrator of the 19th century. Life Doré was born in Alès (Gard, Occitanie), and grew up in Lunel. After taking his baccalauréat littéraire at the college Louis Feuillade, he attended the École des Beaux-Arts of Nîmes for five years. He is the founder of the band Dig up Elvis. In 2006, he created with Guillaume de Molina the project "The Jean d'Ormesson disco suicide", "protean group" which covered pop and disco hits. In June 2007, Doré was voted number one in French ''Elle'' Magazine's "15 Sexiest Men" poll. He dated Louise Bourgoin, but the two separated in March 2009. ''Nouvelle Star'' (; also known as ''À la Recherche de la Nouvelle Star'' for the first season) is a French television series based on the popular Pop Idol programme produced by FremantleMedia. It was broadcast by M6 in seasons 1–8 before D8 aired seasons 9-12. M6 broadcast the 13th and final season. It was hosted by Benjamin Castaldi for the first three seasons (2003–2005). He also hosted 13 episodes of seasons 4 (2006). Virginie Efira presented the remainder of season 4, as well as presenting seasons 5 and 6. Virginie Guilhaume hosted seasons 7 and 8. Since season 9, Cyril Hanouna is the ''Nouvelle Stars TV host. Arnold Charles Ernest Hintjens (21 May 1949 – 23 April 2022), better known by his stage name Arno, was a Belgian singer. He was the frontman of TC Matic, one of the best-known Belgian bands of the 1980s. After the band split in 1986 he enjoyed a solo career. Career Arno sang in a mixture of English, French, Dutch and his native Ostend-Flemish dialect.
