Errigal Ciarán GAC is a Gaelic Athletic Association Gaelic football club in southern County Tyrone, Northern Ireland. It represents the parish of the same name, which incorporates the village of Ballygawley, County Tyrone, Ballygawley and its surrounding area. The club was founded in its current guise in 1990, succeeding the Ballygawley St Ciaran's club which represented the parish from the 1920s until the 1980s. History From 1928 until 1982, the parish of Errigal Ciarán was represented by Ballygawley St Ciaran's. The club's reformation as Errigal Ciarán in 1990 gave rise to an era of unprecedented success over the next two decades, with the club's most recent success coming in 2022 when they captured their 8th Tyrone Senior Football Championship. Pascal Canavan
Pascal Canavan is a former Gaelic footballer who played for the Tyrone County team. He played in Tyrone's second All-Ireland Final appearance in 1995 and captained Errigal Ciaran in 2002. He retired from inter-county football in 2002, following Tyrone's success in the National Football League. Pascal was a Religious Education teacher at St Ciaran's High School in Ballygawley. He has often been involved in GAA within the school as the under-18 manager, his greatest achievement with St Ciarans was winning the All-Ireland with his co-manager Brendan Traynor. Malachy O'Rourke
Malcahy O'Rourke is a Gaelic football manager and former player. Career He played for Fermanagh for more than ten years, but was only on the winning side twice in that period in the championship (both time against Antrim). When he was studying to be a physical education teacher at St Mary's University College, Belfast, O'Rourke played on the St Mary's team that won the 1989 Sigerson Cup along with people like Jarlath Burns, Pascal Canavan, Seamus Downey, Danny Quinn and Benny Tierney. Enda McGinley
Enda McGinley (born 1981) is an Irish Gaelic football manager and former player for the Errigal Ciarán club and the Tyrone county team. He managed the Antrim county team between 2020 and 2022. McGinley was part of Tyrone's All-Ireland-winning teams of 2003, 2005 and 2008. He is known for his hard working style of play and for scoring from midfield. David Harte (born 23 December 1981) is a Gaelic footballer who plays for the Errigal Ciarán club and for the Tyrone county team. He was a member of the All-Ireland winning side of 2005 and also of the All-Ireland winning team of 2008. John Devine (Gaelic Footballer)
John Devine is a Gaelic football goalkeeper for the Errigal Ciarán club and the Tyrone county team. The Ulster Senior Club Football Championship is an annual Gaelic football competition played between the top clubs in Ulster GAA. The trophy awarded to the winners is the Seamus McFerran Cup ( ga, Corn Shéamuis Mhic Fearáin). Gaelic football ( ga, Peil Ghaelach; short name '), commonly known as simply Gaelic, GAA or Football is an Irish team sport. It is played between two teams of 15 players on a rectangular grass pitch. The objective of the sport is to score by kicking or punching the ball into the other team's goals (3 points) or between two upright posts above the goals and over a crossbar above the ground (1 point). Players advance the football up the field with a combination of carrying, bouncing, kicking, hand-passing, and soloing (dropping the ball and then toe-kicking the ball upward into the hands). Mickey Harte
Mickey Harte (born 1952) is an Irish Gaelic football Manager (Gaelic games), manager and former player. He has been manager of the Louth county football team, Louth county team since 2020. Harte managed the Tyrone county football team, Tyrone county team from 2002 until his resignation in 2020, at which time he was the longest-serving manager then active with the same team in inter-county competition. Peter Canavan (born 9 April 1971) is an Irish former Gaelic footballer, manager and pundit.
