Erongo Region
Erongo is one of the 14 regions of Namibia. The capital is Swakopmund. It is named after Mount Erongo, a well-known landmark in Namibia and in this area. Erongo contains the municipalities of Walvis Bay, Swakopmund, Henties Bay and Omaruru, as well as the towns Arandis, Karibib and Usakos. All the main centres within this region are connected by paved roads. The Erongo Region had a population of 150,809 in 2011. As of 2020, it had 119,784 registered voters. In the west, Erongo has a shoreline on the Atlantic Ocean. Regions Of Namibia
Namibia uses regions as its first-level subnational administrative divisions. Since 2013, it has 14 regions which in turn are subdivided into 121 constituencies. Upon Namibian independence, the pre-existing subdivisions from the South African administration were taken over. Since then, demarcations and numbers of regions and constituencies of Namibia are tabled by delimitation commissions and accepted or declined by the National Assembly. In 1992, the ''1st Delimitation Commission'', chaired by Judge President Johan Strydom, proposed that Namibia should be divided into 13 regions. Kunene Region
Kunene is one of the fourteen regions of Namibia. Its capital is Opuwo, its governor is Marius Sheya. The region's name comes from the Kunene River which forms the northern border with Angola. Besides the capital Opuwo, the region contains the municipality of Outjo, the town Khorixas and the self-governed village Kamanjab. Walvis Bay Rural constituency is a constituency in the Erongo Region of Namibia. It comprises the rural area surrounding the constituency's district capital city of Walvis Bay, and additionally some streets on the outskirts of the city. Omaruru is a constituency in the Erongo Region of central-eastern Namibia. Its district capital is the city of Omaruru. It had a population of 8,577 in 2011, up from 7,156 in 2001. the constituency had 6,672 registered voters. Politics In the 2010 regional elections, SWAPO's Uparura Michael Tjirare won the constituency with 1,102 votes. Karibib constituency is a constituency in the Erongo Region of Namibia. It had a population of 13,320 in 2011, up from 12,084 in 2001. The district capital is the town of Karibib. the constituency had 9,617 registered voters. There are currently 121 constituencies in Namibia. Navachab Gold Mine
