''Piranha Club'' is a comic strip written and illustrated by Bud Grace. It was originally called ''Ernie'', but the title was changed in 1998. The club is meant as a parody on Lions Club International, and the strip made its debut in February 1988. In 1989, the Swedish Academy of Comic Art awarded Bud Grace with the Adamson Statuette. Grace received the 1993 National Cartoonists Society's Newspaper Comic Strip Award for his work on the strip. The strip is highly popular in the Scandinavian countries Norway and Sweden, where it is published in a bimonthly (previously monthly) comic book under the original title, ''Ernie''. It is also one of the most popular comic strips regularly published in newspapers in Estonia and Latvia (if not the most popular). Ernie (The Fastest Milkman In The West)
"Ernie (The Fastest Milkman in the West)" is an innuendo-laden comedy or novelty song, written and performed by the English comedian Benny Hill. The song was first performed on television in 1970, and released as a successful recording, topping the UK Singles Chart in December 1971, reaching the Christmas number one spot. The song also peaked at number 1 in Australia in February 1972. Hill received an Ivor Novello Award from the British Academy of Songwriters, Composers and Authors in 1972. The single's B-side, "Ting-A-Ling-A-Loo", is a music hall parody. Hill later suggested that the melody of "Ting-A-Ling-A-Loo" had been largely plagiarised in the ''Spitting Image'' 1986 hit song "The Chicken Song". Story line The lyric's story line is inspired by Hill's early experience as a milkman for Hann's Dairies in Eastleigh, Hampshire. The Ernie Awards, or the 'Ernies', are Australian awards for comments deemed misogynistic. They are held annually. They are named after former Australian Workers' Union secretary Ernie Ecob, who was known for his misogynistic remarks. One of his best-known remarks was "Women aren't welcome in the shearing sheds. They're only after the sex", which is why there is a sheep on top of the Gold Ernie. The inaugural awards night was in celebration of his resignation from the Labor Council of New South Wales. A dinner is held for 300 women each year and the winner is determined by the person who receives the most booing when their sexist statement or action is read out. Michael Kiske
Michael Kiske (born January 24, 1968) is a German singer and lead vocalist for the German power metal band Helloween. Kiske has released four solo albums, two albums with the hard rock band Unisonic, has participated on various metal and rock related projects, such as Avantasia, Place Vendome and Kiske/Somerville and has also performed with numerous bands as a guest vocalist. Biography Early life Prior to joining Helloween, Kiske sang with the German band Ill Prophecy at the age of 17. The band recorded a demo, but it was never released commercially. Personal life Kiske said in an interview 2021 that his father killed himself with alcohol. Michael himself didn't drink alcohol at all for many years, but in 2021 he said he could enjoy a glass of red wine while he was working. He has a younger sister and an older brother.
