Erna Lazarus
Erna Lazarus (June 16, 1903Massachusetts, Birth Records, 1840-1915 – February 19, 2006) was a screen and television writer from the 1930s through the 1960s. Lazarus, born in Boston, Massachusetts, was one of the founding members of the Screen Writers Guild. On her death, ''Variety'' credited her as "one of the first female screenwriters working steadily in the studio system." She also had an influential role in the formation of the Interguild Federal Credit Union. Lazarus died on February 19, 2006, in Woodland Hills, California, at the age of 102. ''Mayor of the Town'' is a radio comedy-drama in the United States. From September 6, 1942, to July 3, 1949, it was broadcast at various times on ABC, CBS, Mutual and NBC. Format Lionel Barrymore starred as the unnamed mayor of a community typical of those in other radio programs of the era, such as Summerfield in ''The Great Gildersleeve'' and River's End in '' Dr. Christian''. Stories dealt with typical small-town situations that involved the mayor. The mayor's housekeeper, Marilly (Agnes Moorehead), and his ward, Butch (Conrad Binyon) usually played key roles in episodes. ''Surfside 6'' is an American Broadcasting Company, ABC television series which aired from 1960 to 1962. The show centered on a Miami Beach, Florida, Miami Beach detective agency set on a houseboat and featured Troy Donahue as Sandy Winfield II; Van Williams as Kenny Madison (a character recycled from ''Bourbon Street Beat''); and Lee Patterson as Dave Thorne. Diane McBain co-starred as socialite Daphne Dutton, whose yacht was berthed next to their houseboat. Spanish actress Margarita Sierra also had a supporting role as Cha Cha O'Brien, an entertainer who worked at the Boom Boom Room, a popular Miami Beach hangout at the Fontainebleau Hotel, directly across the street from Surfside 6. ''Hawaiian Eye'' is an American detective television series that ran from October 1959 to April 1963 on the ABC television network. Premise Private investigator Tracy Steele ( Anthony Eisley) and his half-Hawaiian partner, Tom Lopaka ( Robert Conrad), own Hawaiian Eye, a combination detective agency and private security firm, located in Honolulu, Hawaii.
