Erin Belieu
Erin Belieu (born September 25, 1965) is an American poet. Early life Belieu was born and raised in Omaha, Nebraska, graduating from Central High School. She received her Bachelor of Fine Arts at the University of Nebraska-Omaha, where she learned how to construct poetry. Belieu then attended Boston University, and Ohio State University receiving advanced degrees in the area of poetry. Career Belieu previously taught at Washington University in St. Louis, Boston University, Kenyon College, Ohio University, and Florida State University. She is presently on faculty at the University of Houston MFA/Ph.D. Creative Writing Program. Omaha ( ) is the largest city in the U.S. state of Nebraska and the county seat of Douglas County. Joshua Beckman
Joshua Beckman is an American poet. Life Joshua Beckman was born in 1971 New Haven, Connecticut, and graduated from Hampshire College. He is the author of eight collections of poetry, including ''The Inside of an Apple'' (which was a finalist for the Los Angeles Times Book Award), ''Take It'', ''Shake'', and ''Things Are Happening'', which won the first annual Honickman-APR book award. He has collaborated with Matthew Rohrer on live improvised poems, collected in the book ''Nice Hat. Thanks'' and the audio CD ''Adventures While Preaching the Gospel of Beauty'' (which was recorded while on a 25-city tour). As part of their collaboration Beckman and Rohrer also performed an improvised walking tour of the Brooklyn Museum and a class on eavesdropping for the Museum of Modern Art. Copper Canyon Press is an independent, non-profit small press, founded in 1972 specializing exclusively in the publication of poetry. It is located in Port Townsend, Washington. Copper Canyon Press publishes new collections of poetry by both popular and emerging American poets, translations of classical and contemporary work from many of the world's cultures, re-issues of out-of-print poetry classics, prose books about poetry, and anthologies. Hayden Carruth
Hayden Carruth (August 3, 1921 – September 29, 2008) was an American poet, literary critic and anthologist. He taught at Syracuse University. Life Hayden Carruth was born in Waterbury, Connecticut and grew up in Woodbury, Connecticut. He graduated from Pleasantville High School in Pleasantville, New York with the class of 1939 as vice president of the senior class; he was credited with the "prettiest hair." He received his undergraduate degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1943 and an M.A. from the University of Chicago in 1948. While institutionalized in White Plains, New York from 1953 to 1954, he befriended and subsequently mentored Gordon Lish throughout his adolescence. He lived in Johnson, Vermont for many years. The 2015 Labour Party leadership election was an internal Labour Party poll which was triggered by the resignation of Ed Miliband as Leader of the Labour Party on 8 May 2015, following the party's defeat at the 2015 general election. Harriet Harman, the Deputy Leader, became Acting Leader but announced that she would stand down after the leadership election. It was won by Jeremy Corbyn in the first round. Jeremy Corbyn, the Member of Parliament for Islington North, stood as a candidate in the 2015 British Labour Party leadership election, in a successful campaign that made him the leader of the Labour Party. His campaign was announced in an article for the ''Islington Tribune'' on 3 June 2015. Corbyn pledged to stand on a "clear anti-austerity platform" and because he wanted to "give Labour Party members a voice" in the debate. Jeremy Bernard Corbyn (; born 26 May 1949) is a British politician who served as Leader of the Opposition and Leader of the Labour Party from 2015 to 2020.
