Erin-Ile, Kwara
Erin-Ile is an agrarian community in Kwara State, Nigeria. It's an ancient town with history dated back to 13th century. It was formerly the local government head quarters of Oyun local government before it got moved to Ilemona. Erin Ile was founded around 1225AD by prince Odumasa apayaan ( first elerin) and other warriors such as olowe and others. About Erin Ile is a peace loving, hospitable and law abiding community. Erin Ile is a town with a large expanse of arable land. Erin Ile shares boundaries with Ilemona, Irra, Offa, Eku-Apa, Ipee and Igosun all in Kwara State and Oyan, Ila Orangun and Ila Odo in Osun State. CulturallyErin Ileis a typical Yoruba town. Kwara State
Kwara State ( yo, Ìpínlẹ̀ Kwárà), is a state in Western Nigeria, bordered to the east by Kogi State, to the north by Niger state, and to the south by Ekiti, Osun, and Oyo states, while its western border makes up part of the international border with Benin Republic. Its capital is the city of Ilorin and the state has 16 local government areas. Of the 36 states of Nigeria, Kwara is the ninth largest in area, but the sixth least populous, with an estimated population of about 3.2 million as at 2016. Offa
Offa (died 29 July 796 AD) was King of Mercia, a kingdom of Anglo-Saxon England, from 757 until his death. The son of Thingfrith and a descendant of Eowa, Offa came to the throne after a period of civil war following the assassination of Æthelbald. Offa defeated the other claimant, Beornred. In the early years of Offa's reign, it is likely that he consolidated his control of Midland peoples such as the Hwicce and the Magonsæte. Taking advantage of instability in the kingdom of Kent to establish himself as overlord, Offa also controlled Sussex by 771, though his authority did not remain unchallenged in either territory. In the 780s he extended Mercian Supremacy over most of southern England, allying with Beorhtric of Wessex, who married Offa's daughter Eadburh, and regained complete control of the southeast. Obalufon Alayemore
Obalufon Alayemore (Yoruba: Ọbalùfọ̀n Aláyémọrẹ) was an Ooni of Ife, a paramount traditional ruler of Ile Ife, the ancestral home of the Yorubas. He succeeded his father Obalufon Ogbogbodirin who succeeded Obatala. Obalufon Alayemore was succeeded by Ooni Oranmiyan. Obalufon II left the throne briefly for Oranmiyan, who had just returned from establishing kingdoms across the Yoruba land and Benin. He established cities and towns like Ido-Ogun, Ilara, and many more before returning to succeed Oranmiyan becoming the first and only Ooni to be crowned twice. The arts associated with Obalufon are dated based on radiocarbon and thermoluminescence analysis. But historians have argued that the dates could be wrong. Yoruba Language
Yoruba (, ; Yor. '; Ajami script, Ajami: ) is a language spoken in West Africa, primarily in South West (Nigeria), Southwestern Middle Belt, and Central Nigeria. Offa, Kwara
Offa is a city in the Kwara State of Nigeria, with a population of about 120,100 inhabitants. The town is noted for its weaving and dyeing trade, using vegetable dyes made from locally grown indigo and other plants. Offa is well known for cultivation of sweet potatoes and maize which also formed part of the favourite staple foods of the indigenes in the town. Cattle, goats and sheep are also raised in the environs. The main religions practised in the town are Islam, Christianity and traditional religions. The ancient tradition for which the town is known is wrestling.
