''Erika Jo'' is the self-titled debut album of country music singer Erika Jo. It was released on June 14, 2005 by Universal South Records, following the artist's win on the 2005 season of ''Nashville Star''. Tim DuBois produced the album with Rick Giles and Sixwire member Steve Mandile on all tracks except "I Break Things", which he co-produced with Tony Brown. The album debuted at the number 5 spot on the ''Billboard'' Top Country Albums chart. Its lead single "I Break Things" reached number 53 on the Hot Country Songs chart, while a cover of Jessi Colter's " I'm Not Lisa" did not chart. The track "Love Is" was co-written by Katrina Elam, who released her own rendition as a single in 2006 from her unreleased second album ''Turn Me Up''. Erika Jo Vastola (née Heriges, born November 2, 1986, in Angleton, Texas), known simply by the stage name Erika Jo, is an American country music recording artist who was declared winner of the 2005 season of the ''Nashville Star'' television program. Eighteen years old at the time, Erika Jo is both the youngest person to win the competition and the first female winner. She was signed to Universal South Records in 2005 and released her self-titled debut album, which produced a chart single in "I Break Things", a No. 53 on the ''Billboard'' Hot Country Songs charts. Tom Shapiro
Tom Curtis Shapiro (born in Kansas City, Missouri) is an American songwriter and occasional record producer, known primarily for his work in country music. To date, he holds four Country Songwriter of the Year awards from Broadcast Music Incorporated, as well as the Songwriter of the Decade award from the Nashville Songwriters Association International. Jimmie Lee Sloas is an American session musician, producer, and songwriter, who plays bass guitar. History Jimmie Lee Sloas, born in Ashland, Kentucky, grew up in Fairborn, Ohio and Isonville, Kentucky. His father, Dave, was a member of the popular bluegrass group, The Sloas Brothers. His older brother, David, served as Tammy Wynette's lead guitarist from the early 1980s until her death. In 1982, Sloas co-founded, with singer-songwriter Robert White Johnson, the album-oriented rock band RPM. Aubrey Haynie
Aubrey Haynie (born March 27, 1974) is an American bluegrass musician who plays the fiddle and mandolin. In his career, he has recorded three studio albums for the Sugar Hill Records label, all three of which contained mostly songs that he wrote himself. He also holds several credits as a session fiddler and mandolinist. Biography Early influences When Haynie was nine, he began taking fiddle lessons from his grandmother's cousin, a man named Ted Locke. He studied the fiddle, for two years, after which he took up the mandolin. He became exceedingly good at both, and within two years he joined a bluegrass band named the Bluegrass Parlor Band. Paul Franklin (musician)
Paul V. Franklin (born May 31, 1954) is an American multi-instrumentalist, known mainly for his work as a steel guitarist. He began his career in the 1970s as a member of Barbara Mandrell's road band; in addition he toured with Vince Gill, Mel Tillis, Jerry Reed and Dire Straits. He has since become a prolific session musician in Nashville, playing on more than 500 albums. He has been named by the Academy of Country Music as Best Steel Guitarist on several occasions. Chris Farren is an American country music songwriter and record producer. He is the president of Combustion Music, a publishing and music production company which was founded in 2001. After attending East Carolina University, Farren signed with MCA in 1983 for a songwriting contract, with which he composed songs for movies and television. He moved to Nashville, Tennessee, in the mid-1980s and sang backing vocals in addition to writing songs.
