Erika Araki
is a retired Japanese volleyball player. She served as captain for the national team from 2009 to 2012. She competed at the 2012 Summer Olympics winning a bronze medal, and 2020 Summer Olympics, in Women's volleyball which she was the captain. Career Araki began her professional volleyball career with the Toray Arrows from 2003 to 2008. In July 2008, she joined Foppapedretti Bergamo. Araki returned to the Arrows the following season. From 2010 to 2013, Araki served as team captain. On 18 June 2013, the team announced her marriage. On 10 October 2013, Toray announced her pregnancy. 2017 Asian Women's Volleyball Championship
The 2017 Asian Women's Volleyball Championship was the nineteenth edition of the Asian Women's Volleyball Championship, Asian Championship, a biennial international volleyball tournament organised by the Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC) with Larong Volleyball sa Pilipinas, Inc. (LVPI). The tournament was held in both Biñan and Muntinlupa, Philippines from 9 to 17 August 2017. Qualification The fourteen AVC member associations were submit their women's national team to the 2017 Asian Volleyball Championship. The fourteen AVC member associations were from four zonal associations, including, Central Asia (4 teams), East Asia (5 teams), Oceania (2 teams), and Southeast Asia (3 teams). Kana Oyama (大山 加奈 ''Ōyama Kana'', born June 19, 1984) is a Japanese volleyball player who plays for Toray Arrows. She competed at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens, Greece wearing the #13 jersey. There, she and the Japan women's national team took fifth place. Oyama played as a wing-spiker. The Toray Arrows announced her retirement on 29 June 2010. Volleyball At The 2020 Summer Olympics – Women's Tournament
The women's tournament in volleyball at the 2020 Summer Olympics was the 15th edition of the event at an Olympic Games, organised by the world's governing body, the FIVB, in conjunction with the IOC. It was held in Tokyo, Japan from 25 July to 8 August 2021. It was originally scheduled to take place from 26 July to 9 August 2020, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the IOC and the Tokyo 2020 Organising Committee announced on 24 March 2020 that the 2020 Summer Olympics would be delayed to 2021. Because of this pandemic, the games were played behind closed doors. The United States won their first gold after finishing runners-up three times with a 3–0 win over Brazil. Volleyball is a team sport in which two teams of six players are separated by a net. Each team tries to score points by grounding a ball on the other team's court under organized rules. It has been a part of the official program of the Summer Olympic Games since Tokyo 1964. Beach volleyball was introduced to the programme at the Atlanta 1996. The adapted version of volleyball at the Summer Paralympic Games is sitting volleyball.
