Erik Poppe
Erik Poppe (born 24 June 1960) is a Norwegian film director, producer and screenwriter. Poppe is regarded as one of Scandinavia's most experienced and compelling film directors recognized for his work with actors and multi-pronged narratives. His movies are often built around ensemble casts, sharp writing, impressive camera work and an uncanny knack for rhythm and music in the editing. He is best known for directing critically acclaimed films including ''Hawaii, Oslo'' (2004), '' A Thousand Times Good Night'' (2013), '' The King's Choice'' (2016) and Utøya: July 22. 67th Berlin International Film Festival
The 67th annual Berlin International Film Festival was held from 9 to 18 February 2017 with Dutch filmmaker Paul Verhoeven as President of the Jury. ''Django (2017 film), Django'', directed by Etienne Comar, opened the festival. Montreal World Film Festival
The Montreal World Film Festival (WFF; french: le Festival des Films du Monde) was one of Canada's oldest international film festivals and the only competitive film festival in North America accredited by the FIAPF (although the Toronto International Film Festival is North America's only accredited non-competitive festival). The public festival, which was founded in 1977 as a replacement for the defunct Montreal International Film Festival (1960–68), is held annually in late August in the city of Montreal in Quebec. Nikolaj William Coster-Waldau (; born 27 July 1970) is a Danish actor and producer. An autobiography, sometimes informally called an autobio, is a self-written account of one's own life. It is a form of biography. Grünerløkka is a borough of the city of Oslo, Norway. Grünerløkka became part of the city of Oslo (then Christiania) in 1858. Grünerløkka was traditionally a working class district; however, since the late 20th century the area has increasingly undergone gentrification. Although it is located in the East End, it is more expensive than other parts of the East End. Etymology The first element was derived from the surname ''Grüner''. The last element is the definite form of ''løkke'', meaning "paddock". Troubled Water ( no, De usynlige, "The Invisible") is a 2008 Norwegian film directed by Erik Poppe. The film depicts a large part of the story twice, from the perspectives of two people. Plot As a teenager, Jan Thomas Hansen ( Pål Sverre Valheim Hagen) and a friend run off with young boy Isak in a stroller left outside a cafe by the mother. The boy runs away, slips, and falls on a rock, suffering an apparently fatal head injury. Pressured by his friend, Jan Thomas, afraid of the consequences, carries the boy into a nearby river with a strong current, where he sets him adrift. Jan Thomas testifies that the boy was killed by the fall, but he is convicted of murder. While in jail, he plays the organ for church services. The Moscow International Film Festival (russian: Моско́вский междунаро́дный кинофестива́ль, translit. ''Moskóvskiy myezhdunaródniy kinofyestivál''; abbreviated as MIFF) is the film festival first held in Moscow in 1935 and became regular since 1959. Bent Hamer (born 18 December 1956) is a film director, writer and producer, born in Sandefjord, Norway in 1956. Biography Hamer studied film theory and literature at the University of Stockholm and the Stockholm Film School. In addition to his feature films, he has written and directed a number of short films and documentaries. His first film, ''Eggs'', premiered at the 1995 Cannes Film Festival where it was shown in the Directors' Fortnight section.
