Erik Nelson (songwriter)
Erik Nelson is an American Grammy-nominated songwriter, music producer and recording engineer. His first commercial studio, Sinewave Studios, opened in 1994 in Bloomington, IL. It was at Sinewave that Nelson recorded, mixed and mastered the EP "Kill, I Oughtta" for Mudvayne. After Mudvayne's major label debut "L.D. 50", their label, Epic, re-released "Kill, I Oughtta" under the title "The Beginning of All Things to End" with some additional remixes from "L.D. 50". Sinewave Studios closed in 1999, and Nelson opened Eclipse Studios in Normal, IL in June 2000. In 2005, Nelson created the songwriting/production duo The Insomniax along with partner Emile Ghantous. Pop Music
Pop music is a genre of popular music that originated in its modern form during the mid-1950s in the United States and the United Kingdom. Pop Rock
Pop rock (also typeset as pop/rock) is a fusion genre with an emphasis on professional songwriting and recording craft, and less emphasis on attitude than rock music. Originating in the late 1950s as an alternative to normal rock and roll, early pop rock was influenced by the beat, arrangements, and original style of rock and roll (and sometimes doo-wop). Contemporary R&B
Contemporary R&B (or simply R&B) is a popular music genre that combines rhythm and blues with elements of pop, soul, funk, hip hop, and electronic music. The genre features a distinctive record production style, drum machine-backed rhythms, pitch corrected vocals, and a smooth, lush style of vocal arrangement. Electronic influences are becoming an increasing trend and the use of hip hop or dance-inspired beats are typical, although the roughness and grit inherent in hip hop may be reduced and smoothed out. Soul music is a popular music genre that originated in the African American community throughout the United States in the late 1950s and early 1960s. Alternative dance (also known as indie dance or underground dance in the U.S.) is a musical genre that mixes alternative rock with electronic dance music. Songwriter
