Erik Bjørkum (born 26 February 1965) is a Norwegian sailor and Olympic medallist, born in Sandefjord. Sandefjord
Sandefjord () is a city and the most populous municipality in Vestfold og Telemark county, Norway. The municipality of Sandefjord was established on 1 January 1838. The municipality of Sandar was merged into Sandefjord on 1 January 1969. On 1 January 2017, rural municipalities of Andebu and Stokke were merged into Sandefjord as part of a nationwide municipal reform. This merger was the first one to take place during the reform. Høvik
Høvik is a suburban area in the municipality of Bærum, Viken, Norway, in the Oslo metropolitan area. Mainly a residential area, its population (2005) is 4,311. It is normal to divide Høvik into two parts; Nedre (lower) and Øvre (upper). Høvik has a church, a small shopping area and a railway station, Høvik Station, served by Drammensbanen. Flytoget (Airport Express Train) does not stop at Høvik. Nearby is the Henie Onstad Kunstsenter. There are three schools in Høvik: Ramstad Skole, Høvik Verk Skole and Høvik Skole. There are also some important businesses with offices in Høvik, e.g. DNV GL. Høvik has beaches which can be crowded during the summer. Flying Dutchman (dinghy)
The Flying Dutchman is a Dutch planing sailing dinghy that was designed by Uus Van Essen and Conrad Gülcher as a high performance, one design racer and first built in 1951. The boat was an Olympic sailing class from 1960 until 1992. Production The boat was built in the past by Sunbeam Yachts, Alpa Yachts, Mader Bootswerft, MacKay Boats, Plastrend/Composite Technologies, Lanaverre, Lockley Newport Boats, Advance Sailboat Corp., Binks Yacht Contructions, Chantier Naval Costantini and Mobjack Manufacturing, starting in 1951. More than 10,000 have been built. In 2022 Mader Bootswerft were still producing the design.
