The Ericson 25, also called the Ericson 25 Mark I is an American Trailer sailer, trailerable sailboat that was designed by Bruce King (naval architect), Bruce King as a Cruising (maritime), cruiser and first built in 1973.Henkel, Steve: ''The Sailor's Book of Small Cruising Sailboats'', page 341. Production The design was built by Ericson Yachts in the United States, from 1973 until 1978, but it is now out of production. Design The Ericson 25 is a recreational keelboat, built predominantly of fiberglass, with wood trim. It has a masthead sloop rig, a raked stem, an angled Transom (nautical), transom, a transom-hung rudder controlled by a tiller and a fixed fin keel or an optional keel and centerboard combination. Bruce King (April 6, 1924 – November 13, 2009) was an American businessman and politician who for three non-consecutive four-year terms was the governor of New Mexico. A member of the Democratic Party (United States), Democratic Party, he was the longest-serving governor in New Mexico history, with 12 years of service. Early life, education, and early political career King was born on April 6, 1924, in Stanley, New Mexico. He served in the United States Army, U.S. Army during World War II. After the war, he attended the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Albuquerque, New Mexico. King's career in politics began when he was elected to the Santa Fe County, New Mexico, Santa Fe Board of County Commissioners in 1954.
