Eric Schulz (born 1957) is a United States, US marketing management and sport management expert, faculty member of the Jon M. Huntsman School of Business (Utah State University) and author of three books on marketing. Biography Early life Eric Schulz was born in 1957. In his youth he played baseball and basketball, and while studying at Orem High School in 1974 he participated in setting the world record for basketball marathon, a 45-hour game which record was published in the 1974 Guinness World Records, Guinness Book of Records. After graduating from Orem High School in 1976 Schulz went to study political science at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah, Provo where he received his Bachelor of Arts, BA degree in 1981. Business career After college he went to work as a marketing intern for the Utah Jazz working in their Salt Lake City and Las Vegas offices. The Coca-Cola Company is an American multinational beverage corporation founded in 1892, best known as the producer of Coca-Cola. The Coca-Cola Company also manufactures, sells, and markets other non-alcoholic beverage concentrates and syrups, and alcoholic beverages. The company's stock is listed on the NYSE and is part of the DJIA and the S&P 500 and S&P 100 indexes. The soft drink was developed in 1886 by pharmacist John Stith Pemberton. At the time it was introduced, the product contained cocaine from coca leaves and caffeine from kola nuts which together acted as a stimulant. The coca and the kola are the source of the product name, and led to Coca-Cola's promotion as a "healthy tonic". Pemberton had been severely wounded in the American Civil War, and had become addicted to the pain medication morphine.
