Eric Rodin
Eric Chapman Rodin (February 5, 1930 – January 4, 1991) was an American professional baseball player. An outfielder, he had a nine-season (1950–1951; 1954–1960) career in minor league baseball, and a five-game Major League Baseball, major league trial at the close of the season with the eventual 1954 World Series, world champion New York Giants (NL), New York Giants. Born in Orange, New Jersey, Rodin attended The Lawrenceville School and the University of Pennsylvania. He threw and batted right-handed, stood tall and weighed . Rodin was recalled by the Giants after batting average (baseball), batting .336 with 18 home runs for the 1954 Nashville Vols of the Double-A Southern Association.Minor league statistics

Pinch Hitter
In baseball, a pinch hitter is a substitute Batting (baseball), batter. Batters can be substituted at any time while the dead ball (baseball), ball is dead (not in active play); the manager (baseball), manager may use any player who has not yet entered the game as a substitute. Unlike basketball, American football or ice hockey, and in a similar way to association football, baseball does not have a "free substitution rule" (at the professional level) and thus the replaced player is not allowed back into that game.
