Eric Pratten House
The Eric Pratten House is a heritage-listed residence located at 29 Telegraph Road in the Sydney suburb of Pymble in the Ku-ring-gai Council local government area of New South Wales, Australia. It was designed by Walter Burley Griffin and built from 1935 to 1936. It is also known as Coppins and Crompton. It was added to the New South Wales State Heritage Register on 22 December 2000. History Robert Pymble, a settler and orchardist, was granted by the Crown in the parish (as later defined) of Gordon in 1823. Unlike many grantees of his time, Pymble became a permanent resident and pioneer of the region. He retained most of his estate for most of his life. It was not until 1882, when the district was beginning to expand to accommodate upper class dwellers from the city, that large-scale alienation of the Pymble properties took place. Pymble is a suburb on the Upper North Shore of Sydney in the state of New South Wales, Australia. Pymble is north of the Sydney Central Business District in the local government area of Ku-ring-gai Council. Herbert Edward Pratten (7 May 1865 – 7 May 1928) was an Australian politician. He served as Minister for Health (Australia), Minister for Health (1924–1925) and Minister for Trade (Australia), Minister for Trade and Customs (1924–1928) in the Stanley Bruce, Bruce–Earle Page, Page Government. He became a Australian Senate, Senator for New South Wales in 1917, but resigned in 1921 to seek election to the Australian House of Representatives, House of Representatives where he served until his death in 1928.
