Eric Oscar Sigvard Ny (15 October 1909 – 2 September 1945) was a Swedish middle-distance runner. He competed in the 1500 m event at the 1932 and 1936 Summer Olympics The 1936 Summer Olympics (German: ''Olympische Sommerspiele 1936''), officially known as the Games of the XI Olympiad (German: ''Spiele der XI. Sala, Sweden
Sala is a locality and the seat of Sala Municipality in Västmanland County, Sweden. As of 2010, it has a population of 12,289. Sala is the home of several famous places and people, but it is most known for its silver mine, which today is a popular tourist attraction. Silver mine The small town is best known for the historic Sala Silver Mine (Sala ''silvergruva''), which is located about southwest of the town. It dates back to at least Medieval times, and was in operation until 1908. In 1624, the town of Sala was moved to its current location close to the mine, receiving its royal charter from King Gustavus Adolphus. The silver was important for Sweden's economy and the base for coin production. Mälaren
Mälaren ( , , or ), historically referred to as Lake Malar in English, is the third-largest freshwater lake in Sweden (after Vänern and Vättern). Its area is 1,140 km2 and its greatest depth is 64 m. Mälaren spans 120 kilometers from east to west. The lake drains, from south-west to north-east, into the Baltic Sea through its natural outlets Norrström and Söderström (as it flows around Stadsholmen island) and through the artificial Södertälje Canal and Hammarbyleden waterway.
