Erik Martin (12 January 1936 in Neuss – 25 April 2017) was a German writer, songwriter and composer of songs. He was the founder and editor of the literature and art magazine ''Muschelhaufen''. Life and work Erik Martin was the first-born son of Illa and Ernst J. Martin – both dentists and Dendrology, dendrologists; they were the founders of the Sequoiafarm Kaldenkirchen. His sister is the tree-and-bush expert Helge Breloer. Martin grew up in Kaldenkirchen, went to Aloisiuskolleg in Bad Godesberg and graduated at Thomaeum High-School Kempen, Germany, Kempen. After studies in Aachen he worked as a teacher of German and Biology in Viersen, where he created schoolgardens and worked out environmental projects joining the German Waldjugend. In 1997 he received the Klaus-Gundelach-Prize for his merits concerning his environmental protection and his youth novel ''Fjellwanderung''. Eric Lee Martin (born October 10, 1960, in Long Island, New York) is an American rock singer and musician who was active throughout the 1980s, 1990s, and 2000s, both as a solo artist and as a member of various bands. He earned his most prominent success as the frontman for the hard rock band Mr. Big, which scored a big hit in the early 1990s with "To Be with You", a song that Martin wrote during his teen years. A native of the San Francisco Bay Area, Martin first started his career in the music industry in 1978. Early years Eric is the son of Frederick Lee "Pepper" Martin and Iris Martin. Eric Martin (20 May 1894 – 2 May 1924) was an English first-class cricketer active 1919–23 who played for Middlesex. He was born in Barnet and educated at Christ's College, Finchley. He played intermittently for Middlesex between 1919 and 1923 as a lower middle-order batsman without making any real impact. His best score was 64 against Essex at Leyton in 1919, when he helped add 152 for the ninth wicket in an hour and a quarter. He was captain of Finchley CC and a prominent member of the Casuals FC. Eric Wayne Martin (born November 8, 1961) is a former American football wide receiver. He played collegiately for the LSU Tigers (1981–1984) and professionally for the New Orleans Saints (1985–1993) and the Kansas City Chiefs (1994) in the National Football League. College In 1981, Martin went to Louisiana State University (LSU). As a wide receiver for LSU's football team, Martin had 2,625 yards receiving, which at the time was the most career passing yards caught by any receiver in Southeastern Conference (SEC) history. Eric Martin (February 6, 1969October 9, 2002) was an Automobile Racing Club of America, ARCA driver from Hixson, Tennessee, who was killed at the Lowe's Motor Speedway on October 9, 2002, during a practice session for the season-ending EasyCare 100. He was not related to Mark Martin despite sharing a same last name. Martin initially spun and backed into the fourth turn wall, coming to rest on the racing line entering the tri-oval. A fairly routine and innocuous accident, Martin radioed his crew that he was fine. However, 16 seconds after the initial crash, just as Martin was unbuckling his belts, Deborah Renshaw, going full speed along the racing line in the belief that the track was clear, careened directly into the driver's side door of Martin at about 160 mph and killed him instantly.
