"Entertainment" is a song by French indie pop band Phoenix. It was released as the lead single from their fifth studio album, ''Bankrupt!'', on 19 February 2013. It premiered a day earlier with airplay on BBC Radio 1's Zane Lowe show. Following the premiere, the single was sent to alternative radio, where it impacted in the United States during the week of 26 February. It was also featured on the soundtrack album of the 2013 American heist thriller film '' Now You See Me''. "Entertainment" notably features a staccato guitar line and an array of synthesisers that culminate to form what some may describe as a slightly oriental-inspired sound. Phoenix is a French pop rock band from Versailles, formed in 1995. Their lineup, which has remained unchanged since their formation, comprises Thomas Mars (lead vocals), Deck d'Arcy (bass/keyboards/backing vocals), Christian Mazzalai (guitar/backing vocals) and Laurent Brancowitz (guitar/keyboards/backing vocals); additionally, Thomas Hedlund has been the band's session and live drummer since 2005. Patrick Daughters (born 1976 in Berkeley, California) is an American music videomaker and commercial director currently signed to Anonymous Content. Daughters is a graduate of Walt Whitman High School in Bethesda, Maryland. While still in college, he gained attention with three award-winning short films: ''In Life We Soar'', ''Any Creature'' about a young girl who witnesses a mysterious car accident, and ''Unloved''. ''Unloved'' earned Daughters the $20,000 Grand Prize Award at Nintendo's '' Eternal Darkness'' film contest in 2002. He started directing music videos in 2003.
