Ensemble Pour Haïti
''Ensemble pour Haïti'' ("Together for Haiti") was a French Canadian telethon that was held on January 22, 2010 at 8 PM ET / 9 PM AT. The special, a relief concert to help those affected by the 2010 Haiti earthquake, was simulcast on Radio-Canada, TVA, V, Télé-Québec, LCN, MusiquePlus, MusiMax and TV5, as well as on the Espace Musique, NRJ, RockDétente, Boom FM and Corus Québec radio networks. The event raised approximately CDN$6.65 million. Canadian French
Canadian French (french: français canadien) is the French language as it is spoken in Canada. It includes Varieties of French#Canada, multiple varieties, the most prominent of which is Quebec French, Québécois (Quebec French). Formerly ''Canadian French'' referred solely to Quebec French and the closely related varieties of Ontario (Franco-Ontarian) and Western Canada—in contrast with Acadian French, which is spoken by Acadians in New Brunswick (including the Chiac dialect) and some areas of Nova Scotia (including the dialect St. Marys Bay French), Prince Edward Island and Newfoundland and Labrador, Newfoundland & Labrador (where Newfoundland French is also spoken). RockDétente
Rouge FM is a network of French-language adult contemporary radio stations broadcasting throughout Quebec, Canada. Established in 1990 as RockDétente, they are owned by Bell Media. All "Rouge FM" stations broadcast in the same markets as Bell's mainstream rock network, Énergie, although Énergie also has a few stations in markets not served by "Rouge FM". Although the stations concentrate on French adult contemporary music, it would mix in English music as well, much like Cogeco's " Rythme FM" network, which has fewer stations than "Rouge FM". The flagship radio station is Montreal's CITE-FM. The Astral jingles on this network are different from the adult hits jingles used by Astral's English-language adult contemporary stations, nut the network uses a very relaxing acoustic tune. Marco Calliari
Marco Calliari is a singer-songwriter born in Quebec from Italian parents. He began his career in 1989 in forming the thrash metal group Anonymus alongside Carlos Araya and brothers Daniel and Oscar Souto. Since 2003, he pursued a solo career that has so far released three albums: ''Che la vita'', ''Mia dolce vita'', and ''Al faro est''. With his first album, ''Che la vita'', Calliari found a way to reconnect with his parents' country of origin. The album, based on Italian folklore and jazz influences, won Calliari the Galaxy award in the summer of 2004, given by the CBC at a music festival in Abitibi-Témiscamingue and was nominated at the Gala MIMI in 2005. Gregory Charles, OC (born February 12, 1968) is a Quebec performing artist of Trinidadian and French Canadian origin. Biography Charles' father Lennox was a black anglophone of Trinidadian origin; his mother was a white francophone Canadian. Charles was born in Montreal, Quebec, was raised in Saint-Germain-de-Grantham and studied at École de musique Wilfrid-Pelletier in Montreal. At the age of 7, he won a category of the Canadian Music Competition, after which he performed with most of the country's symphonic orchestras. Diane Dufresne
Diane Dufresne, (born 30 September 1944) is a French Canadian singer and painter, and is known for singing a large repertoire of popular Quebec songs. Dufresne was born in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. She lived in Paris from 1965 to 1967 where she studied voice with Jean Lumière and dramatic art with Françoise Rosay. While there, she performed in noted ''boîte à chansons'' such as l'Écluse, l'Échelle de Jacob, and le Caveau de la Bolée. Daniel Boucher (born October 7, 1971) is a Québécois musician. Born in Montreal, he has released three studio albums; '' Dix Mille Matins'' on October 12, 1999, '' La patente'' on February 24, 2004 and '' Le soleil est sorti'' on November 11, 2008. Bruno Pelletier
Bruno Pelletier (born August 7, 1962) is a Canadian singer. Life Pelletier was born in Charlesbourg, a suburb of Quebec City. In 1983 Pelletier performed in the bands Amanite and Sneak Preview, which sang in English. He later started a group called Pëll, singing in French. At 23 years old, he moved to Montreal, where he sang in bars. In 1989, he participated in the rock competition Envol, where he was awarded a special mention.
