Enrique Carral Icaza
Enrique Carral Icaza (July 14, 1914 – November 25, 2005) was a Mexican architect. He was born in Mexico City. Biography Carral studied at the Escuela Nacional de Arquitectura of the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM) from 1933 to 1938, and started his architectural work in 1941. His rationalistic design works had a large impact on the history of contemporary Mexican architecture. His works include residential, educational, industrial, commercial, religious and public buildings, hospitals, recovery and tourist complexes. He also managed projects of the Instituto Mexicano del Seguro Social and of the UNAM. Carral was professor of architectural composition at the UNAM, and taught also at the Universidad Iberoamericana (UIA). From 1958 to 1960 he was director of the faculty of architecture of the UIA, and coordinator of the UNAM architecture atelier no. 1 from 1975 to 1976. Ricardo Martínez De Hoyos
Ricardo Martínez de Hoyos (October 28, 1918 – January 11, 2009) was a Mexican painter noted for his figurative work on unreal atmospheres. He was one of several children from a very large family to make a mark in his field, along with Oliverio in sculpture and Jorge in acting. His work was exhibited in various parts of the world, featured in collective tours of Mexican art. Individually, he exhibited mostly in Mexico including important venues such as the Museo de Arte Moderno and the Palacio de Bellas Artes, which held a tribute to the artist in 1994. Since his death, a cultural center named after him has been established in the historic center of Mexico City. Life Martínez was born on Calle de Madrid, near Paseo de la Reforma in Mexico City. Bullring
A bullring is an arena where bullfighting is performed. Bullrings are often associated with the Iberian Peninsula, but they can also be found through Iberian America and in a few Spanish and Portuguese ex-colonies in Africa. Bullrings are often historic and culturally significant centres that bear many structural similarities to the Ancient Rome, Roman amphitheatre. Common structure The classic bullring is an enclosed, roughly circular amphitheatre with tiered rows of stands that surround an open central space.
