Enrique Cabrera
Enrique Cabrera (Poza Rica, July 14, 1974) is a Mexican sculptor, photographer, musician and restorer. He began his career doing restoration projects with the Government of Mexico, and created his first collection of sculptures, titled ''Trilogía'', in 2010. Since then, his works have been exhibited in places like the Louvre Museum and the Musée Picasso. Career Early life and beginnings Cabrera was born in the town of Poza Rica de Hidalgo, Veracruz, in 1974. Raised in a family linked to the arts, in his adolescence he became interested in music and learned to play instruments such as guitar, bass, piano and drums. In the early 1990s he became involved in the sculpture world, using mainly metal as a material. He became professionally involved as a restorer with the Mexican department store chain Sanborns, and in 2008 he created his first skull sculpture, a technique that would become one of his main characteristics during his career. Poza Rica
Poza Rica (), formally: Poza Rica de Hidalgo is a city and its surrounding municipality in the Mexican state of Veracruz. Its name means "rich well/pond". It is often thought that the name came to be because it was a place known for its abundance of oil. In reality, before oil was discovered, there existed a pond rich in fish, which gave origin to the city’s name. In the last century oil was discovered in the area. It has since been almost completely extracted. This has resulted in the decline of oil well exploration and drilling activities, though there are still many oil facilities. The city shares borders with the municipalities of Papantla, Tihuatlán, and Coatzintla, and stands on Federal Highway 180. The archaeological zone of El Tajín is located approximately from Poza Rica. Naia (designated as HN5/48) is the nameHer name is derived from a type of water nymph in Greek mythology—the Naiads. given to a 12,000 – to 13,000-year-old human skeleton of a teenage female who was found in the Yucatán Peninsula, Mexico. Her bones were part of a 2007 discovery of a cache of animal bones in an underwater chamber called Hoyo Negro (Spanish for "Black Hole") in the Sistema Sac Actun. At the time of Naia's death, the cave system was mostly dry, and she likely died falling into Hoyo Negro. Tulum
Tulum (, yua, Tulu'um) is the site of a pre-Columbian Mayan walled city which served as a major port for Coba, in the Mexican state of Quintana Roo. The ruins are situated on cliffs along the east coast of the Yucatán Peninsula on the Caribbean Sea. Tulum was one of the last cities built and inhabited by the Maya and achieved its greatest prominence between the 13th and 15th centuries. Maya continued to occupy Tulum for about 70 years after the Spanish began occupying Mexico, but the city was abandoned by the end of the 16th century. Domingo Zapata is a Spanish artist, writer, and fashion designer. He became a full-time artist in 2002 and sold his first major painting to George Soros in 2005. In 2017, he launched a fashion collection at New York Fashion Week and also published his first novel, ''The Beautiful Dream of Life''.
