Enrico Leone (economist)
''Henrico Leone'' (also ''Enrico Leone'') is an opera (''dramma per musica'') in three acts composed by Agostino Steffani to an Italian libretto by Ortensio Mauro. Based on the life of the powerful German prince Henry the Lion, the opera was first performed on 30 January 1689 in Hannover to inaugurate the new royal theatre in the Leineschloss (Leine Palace). The opera was performed in German at the Oper am Gänsemarkt in Hamburg in 1696 with sets designed by Johann Oswald Harms, who was inspired by Flemish seascapes. It was also performed in 1697, 1699 and 1716 in Braunschweig, the residence of Henry the Lion, in an arrangement by Georg Caspar Schürmann and a translation by Gottlieb Fiedler. The opera was revived as ''Enrico Leone'' in Hannover in 1989 when it was performed by the Capella Agostino Steffani (today the Hannoversche Hofkapelle) to commemorate the 300th anniversary of the Hannover State Opera and of the composition. Gerhard Faulstich is a German baritone. After voice studies at the , Gerhard Faulstich was active since 1965 as a concert singer. He made his operatic debut at the in as Leonardo in Wolfgang Fortner's opera ''Bluthochzeit''. In 1981, he joined the Staatsoper Hannover and the faculty of the Musikhochschule Hannover where he is a professor. At the Staatsoper Hannover he performed among others Papageno in Mozart's ''Die Zauberflöte'', Tsar Peter in Lortzing's ''Zar und Zimmermann'', Wolfram in ''Tannhäuser'', and the title role in Wolfgang Rihm's ''Jakob Lenz''. In 1982, he sang Bach's ''St Matthew Passion'', conducted by Erhard Egidi at the Neustädter Kirche, performing the words of Jesus with Lutz Michael Harder as the Evangelist. Jordan Hall is a 1,051-seat concert hall in Boston, Massachusetts, the principal performance space of the New England Conservatory. It is one block from Boston's Symphony Hall. It is the only conservatory building in the United States to be designated a National Historic Landmark. This building is currently under study by the Boston Landmarks Commission for landmark status.
