Engstler Motorsport is a private German auto racing team based in Wiggensbach, run by driver Franz Engstler. It has competed successfully in the Asian Touring Car Championship and the ADAC Procar Series. It is sponsored by lubricants company Liqui Moly and known officially as Liqui Moly Team Engstler. World Touring Car Championship BMW 320i (2005, 2007) The team made its World Touring Car Championship debut in the end of season 2005 Guia Race of Macau, with two BMW 320is for Hong Kong driver Paul Poon and New Zealander Peter Scharmach. While Poon failed to qualify for the race, Scharmach finished 16th in the first race, but retired in the second. The team returned to the WTCC at Macau two years later, running three 320is for Franz Engstler, Andrei Romanov and David Louie. Franz Engstler
Franz Engstler (born 25 July 1961) is a German auto racing driver. Racing career Born in Kempten im Allgäu, Engstler started racing in the European Hillclimbing Championship and the German Long Distance Cup, which he won. From 1988 he competed in German Formula Three, winning the class B title in 1989. In 1993 he switched to Touring car racing, where he was German Touring Car Championship Class 2 champion in an Alfa Romeo 155. Between 1994 and 1999, he raced in the German Super Touring Championship for various teams. He finished first in the 2000 German Touring Car Challenge, with two wins. Two more seasons were spent racing in this series in 2002 and 2003. After a season in the 2004 German Production Car Championship, he moved to the Asian Touring Car Championship. 2008 World Touring Car Championship Season
The 2008 World Touring Car Championship season was the fifth World Touring Car Championship season, the fourth since its 2005 return. It began on 2 March, and ended on 16 November, after twenty-four races. The championship, which was open to Super 2000 Cars and Diesel 2000 Cars, was composed of the FIA World Touring Car Championship for Drivers and the FIA World Touring Car Championship for Manufacturers. Frenchman Yvan Muller won the Drivers title by 26 points from SEAT team-mate Gabriele Tarquini, with Chevrolet's Robert Huff finishing third just a point behind Tarquini. David Louie (racing Driver)
David Louie (born 1962) is a Hong Kong auto racing driver. Career Louie competed in the final round of the 2007 FIA World Touring Car Championship at Macau. He drove a BMW 320i prepared by the Engstler Motorsport team. Andrey Romanov (russian: Андрей Романов, born 10 July 1979 in Moscow) is a Russian auto racing driver and director of MTV/NRG. BMW 3 Series (E46)
The fourth generation of the BMW 3 Series range of compact executive cars is designated under the model code E46, which was produced by the German automaker BMW from 1997 to 2006, and was the successor to the E36 3 Series which ceased production in 2000. First introduced in November 1997, the E46 was available in sedan, coupé, convertible, station wagon and hatchback body styles. The latter has been marketed as the 3 Series Compact. The 2005 Guia Race Of Macau was the final of the 2005 World Touring Car Championship season. It was held at the Circuito da Guia. Augusto Farfus won the first race for Alfa Romeo, the race being Farfus's first win in the series. The second race was a crash-strewn affair, won in the end by Duncan Huisman.
