English Cricket Team In New Zealand In 2019–20
The England cricket team toured New Zealand between October and December 2019 to play two Tests and five Twenty20 International (T20I) matches. New Zealand Cricket confirmed the fixtures for the tour in June 2019. The Bay Oval hosted its first ever Test match, becoming the ninth Test venue in the country. The Test matches were not part of the 2019–21 ICC World Test Championship (WTC), as the tour was confirmed prior to the formation of the WTC. Ashley Giles, the managing director of England men's cricket, suggested that the tour could have a stand-in captain and coach. However, when the squads were announced in September 2019, Joe Root and Eoin Morgan were retained as the captains of England's Test and T20I teams respectively, but Jonny Bairstow was dropped from the Test squad. Kane Stuart Williamson (born 8 August 1990) is a New Zealand cricketer who is currently the Captain (cricket), captain of the New Zealand national cricket team, New Zealand national team in limited overs cricket. Colin de Grandhomme (born 22 July 1986) is a former Zimbabwean-born New Zealand international cricketer. Thomas Ackland Blundell (born 1 September 1990) is a New Zealand cricketer. He made his international debut for the New Zealand national cricket team in January 2017. Todd Duncan Astle (born 24 September 1986) is a New Zealand cricketer who plays for the New Zealand national cricket team. Astle began his cricket career as an opening batsman, representing New Zealand in the 2006 Under-19 Cricket World Cup, but over time playing first-class cricket for Canterbury, he morphed into a bowling all-rounder. South African Cricket Team In New Zealand In 2016–17
The South African cricket team toured New Zealand during February to March 2017 to play three Test matches, five One Day Internationals (ODIs) and one Twenty20 International (T20I) match. In January 2017 the current South African Test captain AB de Villiers said he would be unavailable for selection for this series. The fourth ODI, which was originally scheduled to be played at McLean Park, Napier, was moved to Seddon Park, Hamilton.
