The England cricket team toured Australia in 2002–03, playing a five-Test series for The Ashes and a number of tour matches against Australian domestic teams. They also played a triangular ODI series against Australia and Sri Lanka. The first Test of the series, at Brisbane, was the 800th Test match to be played by England. Robert Key (cricketer)
Robert William Trevor Key (born 12 May 1979) is an English former cricketer and cricket commentator who played international cricket in all formats for England and domestic cricket for Kent County Cricket Club. He is the current Managing Director of the England Cricket team. A right-handed opening batsman, Key made appearances at age-group level for Kent from the age of eleven, moving up until he made his first-class debut in 1998. He made eight first-class and four List A appearances for England's youth sides, and was a member of the side that won the 1998 Under-19 Cricket World Cup. Matt Nicholson
Matthew James Nicholson (born 2 October 1974) is an Australian former cricketer who played in one Test match in 1998 and over 100 first-class games for New South Wales, Western Australia, Northamptonshire and Surrey. A native of the Sydney suburb of St Leonards, he attended Knox Grammar School and began playing for the Gordon club in the Sydney competition who he later captained. His career was ravaged by injuries as well as chronic fatigue syndrome, following a dose of Glandular Fever but a strict diet enabled him to manage the problem, and he became a vital part of WA's and New South Wales' bowling line-ups. In 1998 Nicholson earned a surprise call up to play his one and only Test against England in Melbourne. In 2004/05 Nicholson claimed 47 wickets in the Pura Cup, including 7 in the final, as NSW won the title. Marcus James North (born 28 July 1979) is a former Australian first-class cricketer who played 21 Test matches and two One Day Internationals (ODIs) for the Australian national side. Born in Melbourne, North grew up in Western Australia, attending Kent Street Senior High School as part of their Specialist Cricket Program, and was a successful junior cricketer, entering the Australian Cricket Academy and playing under-19 cricket for Australia. WACA Ground
The WACA (formally the WACA Ground) is a sports stadium in Perth, Western Australia. The stadium's name derives from the initials of its owners and operators, the Western Australian Cricket Association. The WACA has been referred to as Western Australia's "home of cricket" since the early 1890s, with Test cricket played at the ground since the 1970–71 season. Matthew James Hoggard, (born 31 December 1976) is a former English cricketer, who played international cricket for England cricket team from 2000 to 2008, playing both Test cricket and One Day Internationals. The Western Australian Men’s cricket team, formerly nicknamed the Western Warriors, represent the Australian state of Western Australia in Australian Cricket in Australia, domestic cricket.
