Commonwealth Games England (CGE) is the national Commonwealth Games Association for England. The council is responsible for supporting and managing the participation of England at the Commonwealth Games, Team England at the Commonwealth Games'. Sophie Thornhill
Sophie Thornhill, (born 9 February 1996) is a visually impaired English former racing cyclist who competed in para-cycling tandem track events. She is a double world champion, with pilot Rachel James, and a double Commonwealth gold medallist, with pilot Helen Scott, in the tandem sprint and 1 km time trial events. In April 2014, she set world records in the tandem sprint and 1 km time trial, piloted by James. She retired from competition in 2020. Biography Thornhill comes from Poynton near Stockport in Cheshire. She attended Poynton High School, also attended by para-cyclist Sarah Storey, and Loughborough College. She has only 7–9% vision owing to oculocutaneous albinism, which causes visual impairment. Joanna Rowsell Shand
Joanna Katie Rowsell MBE (born 5 December 1988) is a retired English cyclist on the Great Britain Cycling Team who competed on track and road. Her greatest successes were the gold medals won in the women's team pursuit at the 2012 London Olympics and the 2016 Rio Olympics as well as five World Championship titles, four in the team pursuit (2008, 2009, 2012 and 2014) plus one in the individual pursuit at the 2014 World Championships. She currently holds the World Record in the 3 km team pursuit. Rowsell first came to national prominence as a winner of junior national competitions in 2005/2006. Nekoda Smythe-Davis (born 22 April 1993) is a British judoka. She competed for England in the women's 57 kg event at the 2014 Commonwealth Games where she won a gold medal. Judo career Smythe-Davis became champion of Great Britain on two occasions, winning the lightweight division at the British Judo Championships in 2013 and 2014. Colin Oates (born 7 June 1983 in Harold Wood, London) is an English former Judoka. Judo career In 2011, Oates won a bronze medal in the 2011 European Championship defeating Pierre Duprat from France and finished fifth in the 2011 World Championship, losing to Musa Mogushkov from Russia in the bronze medal match. Ashley McKenzie (born 17 July 1989) is an English judoka competing at the men's 60 kg division. He was a member of the Great Britain Olympic Judo Team at London 2012 but was defeated in the second round by Hiroaki Hiraoka of Japan. He also appeared in, and made it to the final of ''Celebrity Big Brother 10'' in September 2012. In August 2018, he appeared on the first series of Celebs on the Farm. In January 2020, he appeared on Celebrity Ex on the Beach. He was part of the Great Britain Olympic Judo Team at Rio 2016; he reached the third round where he was defeated by Yeldos Smetov of Kazakhstan.
