Barrie Harrison Kelly (born 2 August 1940) is a former sprinter from Bury, Greater Manchester, Bury, United Kingdom. He was a member of Bury and Radcliffe Athletic Club. Athletics career Between 1965 and 1973 he won 2 gold, 5 silver and 1 bronze medal in the AAA indoor 60 metres/60 yards, missing out on the medals only in 1970. In the 100 yards at the AAA championships, he won a gold, silver, and two bronzes between 1965 and 1968. David Jones (athlete)
David Henry Jones (11 March 1940 – 1 June 2023) was a British athlete who competed in the 100 & 200 metres. He won three consecutive AAA titles at 220 yards (1959–1961). He was educated at Felsted School. Jones competed for Great Britain in the 1960 Summer Olympics held in Rome in the 4 x 100 metre relay where he won the bronze medal with his teammates Peter Radford, David Segal and Nick Whitehead. He reached the 100 metres semi-final where he was denied a place in the final in a photo finish with Ray Norton of the USA although there are photos that seem to suggest he finished ahead of Norton. David Jones subsequently won a gold medal in the 4 x 110 yards relay in the England team with Peter Radford, Alf Meakin, Len Carter, as well as winning a silver medal in the 220 yards event in the 1962 British Empire and Commonwealth Games in Perth. Ronald Hill MBE (25 September 1938 – 23 May 2021) was a British runner and clothing entrepreneur. He was the second man to break 2:10 in the marathon; he set world records at four other distances, and laid claim to the marathon world record. He ran two Olympic Marathons ( Tokyo 1964 and Munich 1972), and achieved a personal marathon record of 2:09:28. In 1970, Hill won the 74th Boston Marathon in a course record 2:10:30. He also won gold medals for the marathon at the European Championships in 1969 and the Commonwealth Games in 1970. David Peter Hemery, (born 18 July 1944) is a British former track and field athlete, best known as the winner of the 400 metres hurdles at the 1968 Summer Olympics in Mexico City. Early life Hemery was born in Cirencester, Gloucestershire, but his father's accounting work took the family to the United States, where he attended school and graduated from Boston University. At one point the family had returned to Britain for a time, and Hemery moved back and forth across the Atlantic during his training.
