Engelsberg Ironworks
Engelsberg Ironworks ( sv, Engelsbergs bruk) is an ironworks in ''Ängelsberg'', a village in Fagersta Municipality in Västmanland, Sweden. It was built in 1681 by Per Larsson Gyllenhöök (1645-1706) and developed into one of the world's most modern ironworks in the period 1700–1800. It is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1993. Name Engelsberg Ironworks is named after Englika. Englika, who was born in Germany, began producing iron in Engelsberg in the 14th century. History The history of iron production in the region dates back to at least 13th century. The local peasants both mined the ore and produced the iron using primitive furnaces. In the end of the 16th century more modern production methods were introduced in Engelsberg and production volumes increased substantially in the following decades. Andělská Hora (german: Engelsberg) is a town in Bruntál District in the Moravian-Silesian Region of the Czech Republic. It has about 400 inhabitants. Administrative parts The village of Pustá Rudná is an administrative part of Andělská Hora. Geography Andělská Hora is located about northwest of Bruntál and north of Olomouc. It lies in the Hrubý Jeseník mountain range. The highest point is the mountain Vysoká hora at above sea level. History Andělská Hora was founded in 1540 as a mining town. In 1553 it received a mining register and in 1556 it was furnished with all necessary permissions for mining by Jan the Elder of Vrbno and Bruntál. After the Thirty Years' War the town was given to the Teutonic Order which owned it until 1639. According to the Austrian census of 1910 the village had 1,789 inhabitants, 1,767 (99.7%) were German-speaking. Most populous religious group were Roman Catholics with 1,761 (98.4%). Engelsberg (23 January 1825, Engelsberg (now Andělská Hora (Bruntál District), Engelsberg in Schlesien, in the Bruntál District), Austrian Silesia - 27 May 1879, Deutsch Jaßnik (Jeseník nad Odrou) was a Silesian-Austrian Empire, Austrian composer. Eduard Schön used the pseudonym ''Engelsberg'' or ''ES Engelsberg'' after the village he was born. Schön studied at the Palacký University, Olomouc#Philosophy, Faculty of Philosophy of University of Olomouc and then law at the University of Vienna, finishing in 1850. Later, he worked as a section leader at Ministry of Finance and as general secretary of Stock Exchange in Vienna. Composer
